And Btw... John Wayne Gacy... his house of horrors is in Waterloo, Ia. Michele Bachmann's town. Yet she's just like him.
John Wayne, the movie star, is a made up name, so technically wasn't born anywhere. But he wasn't born in Waterloo or had anything to do with the town from any perspective. So, is this type of confusion even possible? You're digging it deeper for her:).

*L* Mixing up folks with a rather common name like John Wayne or mixing up the movie star's hometown, especially when John Wayne was a made up name anyway hardly seems comparable to being so stupid you think an island will tip over. *L*And IMHO no one is more batsh*t crazy than that weirdo Pelosi. My old granny was in a mental institution and we used to visit her and the babbling mentally impaired folks there made twice as much sense as anything Pelosi has to say *L*....Mel Ahh... so they just made up things to say off the top of their head like Bachmann:)?

Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the bill read: To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo. Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power. Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N. Notice that ALL are either Democrat or "Independent." Baldwin (D-WI) Baucus (D-MT) Bennet (D-CO) Blumenthal (D-CT) Boxer (D-CA) Brown (D-OH) Cantwell (D-WA) Cardin (D-MD) Carper (D-DE) Casey (D-PA) Coons (D-DE) Cowan (D-MA) Durbin (D-IL) Feinstein (D-CA) Franken (D-MN) Gellibrand (D-NY) Harkin (D-IA) Hirono (D-HI) Johnson (D-SD) Kaine (D-VA) King (I-ME) Klobuchar (D-MN) Landrieu (D-LA) Leahy (D-VT) Levin (D-MI) McCaskill (D-MO) Menendez (D-NJ) Merkley (D-OR) Mikulski (D-MD) Murphy (D-CT) Murray (D-WA) Nelson (D-FL) People this needs to go viral. These Senators voted to let the UN take our guns. They need to lose the election. We have been betrayed. These 46 Senators Voted to Give your 2nd Amendment Constitutional Rights to the U.N.

Yep, worse traitors and worse threats to our rights are among the Democrats. Any politician that refuses to support US sovereignty and prefers to give up any of our rights to the petty dictators and third world crooks of the UN is a traitor and needs to be voted out of office. This is just another attempt at an end run to subvert our second amendment rights by globalists, of Hillary Clinton's ilk and antigunners in our government. Note those two rabid anti 2nd amendment folks, Feinstein and Boxer out of my former home state are right there in the forefront of the traitors. Those poor boogers out in California are being hammered by like seven new antigun bills right now and Feinstein and Boxer would love to see the whole nation follow in their tracks.....Mel

At least Johnson from S.D. has sense enough not to run this next time. He knows he'll loose by a wide margin. Looks like we may have a couple good ones going after his seat in the Senate.

I agree with not re-electing the worst firearm banning Congressmen from either side. But you might want to check their voting records, since banning guns isn't a single party platform (Brady supporters are very Republican, you can't tell til you see their actual voting records, which should be easily available at Congressional sites).

You are absolutely right Helen. There are scumbag politicians in both parties. That's one of the reasons thew NRA follows their voting records and grades them. However, there is a definite party trend when it comes to attacking our gun rights and Democrats are usually the one's posing the biggest and most consistent threat. Remember I'm from Commiefornia and have first hand experience with this problem. If firearms ownership rights are an important issue to them, hunters and shooters in blue states should keep this in mind when voting.....Mel

I cannot tolerate Senator Frankenstein and the gun grabbers. lol. The 'fight' for the 2nd Amendment is far from over. They'll be voting on the last 2 amendments for the Gun Violence Prevention Bill on C-Span today at 12pm EST. I hope everyone has contacted their senators. If you haven't, you can contact them through NRA-ILA's website, Ruger, Smith & Wesson, and Remington have "take action" petitions on their sites, too. And, if anything, please contact your senators via phone. Rick and I purchased our carry permits earlier this year and joined the NRA. Wanted to share with y'all my new firearms to join my Rem870 12 gauge: Henry Golden Boy Youth Model (Pretty Golden Boy Roy, lol) Sig Sauer P238 (Lil Bug) Wanted an LCR-XS .38, but cannot find one anywhere. Kinda like searching for ammo to purchase...

I am in total shock from seeing Baucus from Montana on that list. He is from one of the most gun totingest states. He voted strictly on party line which has nothing to do with representing the people.
It is hard to believe that a vote like that even came up. There should be no question as to which way the people want it and it should be a non issue. Jim

Jim, I also was outraged and shocked to see old' Max Baucus was on the list. Turns out, he helped to block it. This is his last term, (Montana's longest-serving U.S. senator). He is a master politician, a Democrat that knows how to keep both sides happy enough to elect him. He is generally gun owner friendly, he hunts and fishes even when not filming commercials. He is well connected to special interests on both sides of the aisle, and is a big reason Montana takes so much federal money. He is a very good diplomat, and a prime example of old school politics.
He may be a Dem, but he knows what Montana is about, and what we will tolerate. When asked why he voted against, he simply said, "Montana". Gotta respect his judgement on that one, lol.

Lists from lobbying organizations have their own agenda typically.
I'd check YOUR OWN Congressmen's track records.
Ie., as far as I know, not a single politician in Florida is going to get elected, no matter what the party, if they are actively anti-gun. I suspect that's the case with MOST western states also, tho I have no way of knowing that.

Jan, both the wife and I own Ruger LCR's, hers in 22 mag, mine in 357 mag. Great pistols for concealed carry and very well made. Fair warning though, the LCR, even when firing 38 specials is downright uncomfortable to shoot with anything other than low power wadcutters. 38 plus P critical defense or 357 mags create recoil which is actually painful. Both firearms are surprising accurate for their size though and have exceptional triggers for a DA only revolver......Mel

? Hi, Mel!! I've read great reviews on the LCR 38, and also read as you suggested that the +P ammo was a handful. The only place we found the LCR's nearby was at Gander Mountain in Opelika a couple of weeks ago, but we cannot purchase handguns in Alabama. They were pretty high-priced, too. The guys at our local gunshop have been waiting on a Ruger shipment since February. Has your wife fired your LCR 357 with 38 ammo (or 357?)?

Jan, Nope, my wife is very recoil conscious which is why we went with the 22 mag for her. The 357 is both loud and rough even with target wadcutters as the pistol is a real featherweight. The lighter loads don't bother me but one look and listen scared my wife off. The 22mag by the way is an outstanding little shooter. Really fun and accurate, and holds six shots rather than five. Don't buy the Ruger inside the waist band holster though. I've heard complaints about it. The one by Talon training group is the one you want For IWB carry or a De Santis Superfly for your pocket. The Talon does not have a retention strap but I carry mine hiking all over the ranch and the pistol has never dropped out yet....Mel
PS: I cannot believe the price gouging going on in many gun and ammo stores right now. I got my LCR at a pretty reasonable price before the shortage, maybe $50 below suggested retail. Had to pay retail plus $30 for the wife's pistol after the shortage. As you've probably noticed ammo is now ridiculous. I usually pay like $9.75 for fifty 22mag. Downtown they are almost $30 now.

My favorite handgun has always been the Colt 380 (the MK IV, the Mustang is too small). It's easy to use, easy to take apart, and small enough to conceal. Plus, you can get a nice range of bullets for it. Some of them come with really stiff springs, but you can just wear them down a bit, they're nowhere near as stiff as Barettas say. I'm just not a big fan of revolvers, and 22 is kinda small. You can also get hollow points for the 380 easily.
If you opt for this, don't get the stainless... try to get a blue, or you'll have to keep it covered in oil so it doesn't look yucky and need cleaning all the time, the blue is much prettier and nicer.

I'm a wheel gun guy. One well placed 38 +p hydroshok can do more than a full magazine in a 380 or 9mm. Since I don't carry I prefer something like my gp100 .357 in 6" stainless. Tried a few semi autos, liked a Sig P229, OK with M9, and of course the 1911 is a lot of fun. IMO Glocks may be reliable, but it's like a barrel mounted on top of a cardboard box. I have a membership with an indoor range that has rental guns, so if I feel like I need a high cap fix I go there.

Lee, you're a MAN. I think revolvers are more a man thing. Women don't want to lug no 6" barrel around. LOL! I find Glocks very unimpressive, other than the kick, which can be quite impressive (and undesirable), and the grips are too big.
