Some of those anti-gun Democrats really have to go... they are as stupid as the pro-corporate Republicans.

I still insist there's a connection between 9% approval ratings, millions of unemployed and trillions in debt vs. gun control. I'm not sure how they can make such a huge deal over a couple dz children and killing hundreds of thousands in Iraq is a non-event? There is serious crap going on in this world, as usual, nothing ever changes it seems. Must just be human nature. Get rid of one group and it's not long before the new group is screwing you over one way or another.

I don't think debt vs gun control is the whole issue, but so long as that segment of the Democratic party INSISTS on taking away a Constitutional right, they are making people who vote single issue point at their half-baked idea as a problem with the party, and it IS a problem with the party, a big one.
HOWEVER, not every Democrat supports gun control, and you can clearly see that in Congress, and many Republicans support gun control (think Brady Bill, and Republican Brady's continuous and fierce lobbying in the Republican party for gun control).
As for the children killed... it's always horrible. You cannot say that murder is not horrible because somewhere else more people are murdered. But I would say we are MORE humane than humanity's ever been, if only because we think about it. Horrible crap has been going on through human existence, and far far more horrible than recent crap.
Consider that when we get annoyed with a group, we don't feel the need to line our roadways with their crucified crying bodies for hundreds of miles, build small mountains with the skulls of entire cities, or chop off people's hands as routine for stealing a loaf of bread. All of which has happened.
I think we DO live in a better world, at least by degrees, and humanity has changed a lot, because we are at least aware of being humane, and we all strive harder to be better people. I doubt anyone but philosophers and religious gave it much thought in centuries past.

I'm with Lee. We need term limits too, so these aholes can't become lifetime career scumbags. Should be 8 years max for any of our politicians just like for president so we don't have to suffer their crookedness and stupidity forever. I am so sick of listening to folks like that whiny Reid and that psycho, crazy eyed Pelosi and that phony tanning machine reject Boehner that sometimes it makes me want to puke...Mel

These topics just get my blood pressure up. It seems that the media stirs the pot to keep the sheeple turning in circles and nipping at each other. It's time to elect a "representative" small caps because the come from us and I don't need an official title or lifetime salary to get things done. Rand Paul is not like his daddy, but much better in my opinion. Then again my opinion doesn't count here in the gerrymandered 2nd district of chicago.

Reminds about the democrat that was worried about an island tipping over. That was even more hilarious...

Ahhh... nothing is as hilarious as THIS Michele Bachmann quote: "Well what I want them to know is just like, John Wayne was from Waterloo, Iowa. That's the kind of spirit that I have, too" -Rep. Michele Bachmann, getting her John Waynes mixed up during an interview after launching her presidential campaign in Waterloo, Iowa, where she grew up. The beloved movie star John Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa, three hours away. The John Wayne that Waterloo was home to is John Wayne Gacy, a notorious serial killer. (June 2011)

I love it, they are all idiots. Let's start from scratch with no party lines and have a huge pig roast with all that pork.
I stand corrected there are no more earmarks. (since 2010) Just shows my lack of attention and assuming that there is a status quo. Oops.

Oh. Thought you were referring to Mel's comment about Nanci Pelosi's 'crazy eyes' . WHO has crazy eyes:)? As for the 2 people she 'got mixed up'... she is FROM that town... you'd think she would know the difference between the 2 people. Especially when the one she was 'just like' from that town happened to be one of the worst serial killers in the USA, John Wayne Gacy, arguably the worst serial killer in the history of the USA, who raped, then murdered, 33 under 18 children (boys), and buried them all around his house. I mean Charles Manson didn't personally kill anyone and was responsible for 5 deaths. A man who did that to 33 tops the list, but they were CHILDREN. Since that's the ONLY john wayne from her own town, and she said she was 'just like him', I'd say that was a bit more than a mixup about a measley island that no one cares much about. I'd say it was political death... but people still support her. A MIXUP:)? That's like mixing up drinking water with bleach.

*L* Mixing up folks with a rather common name like John Wayne or mixing up the movie star's hometown, especially when John Wayne was a made up name anyway hardly seems comparable to being so stupid you think an island will tip over. *L*And IMHO no one is more batsh*t crazy than that weirdo Pelosi. My old granny was in a mental institution and we used to visit her and the babbling mentally impaired folks there made twice as much sense as anything Pelosi has to say *L*....Mel

Mel, she's a US Congresswoman... not a PTA housewife who doesn't know who the famous people in her town are. Congressmen REPRESENT their towns, if they don't know who the famous people are where they grew up, who would?
Pelosi is OLD, and while I agree that mentally impaired people should not serve as decisionmakers of our nation, she's far from senile.
Michele Bachmann on the other hand... I guess I should post some of her other quotes. Good Grief. This woman is one of the ones making up rules for our nation, and if she doesn't know who was born in her town, then she shouldn't have said anything. You're talking about letting someone this oblivious to facts make the decisions based on her impaired judgement and inability to reason.
Before you say that all politicians are like that, just think about this... we want MORE politicians like this?
