Looks like you're serving her puddin' in that big bowl judging from her size. Great cat!

Our current cat adopted us about eight years ago. A Lynx Point Siamese. Very talkative and intense play times. He is a sissy though and a mammas boy. He will come when called to my wife but just passes me by. I get to do the playing and feeding. Oh man he can play. I have the plastic stick that had a ribbon attached. After the ribbon came off he started to chew on the end of the stick. We bought an area rug and he has torn up every corner and loves to try and get the plastic from under the rug. He bites the stick so hard it's unbelievable.

Puddin is a big cat I guess... everyone says she's big! I don't notice since I've had her from 5 weeks old when my daughter brought her out to live with me in Sept 2011. We sit out on the front porch and watch the sun come up and drink coffee about every morning. She's well fed...but not fat...she's quite athletic.. runs around at top speed and goes straight up a tree at the same speed. She catches an occasional slow witted bird, but usually prefers to just watch them. She's given up on ever catching a Hummingbird...she just looks at them like they are something possessed and leaves them alone. And only likes to be petted when she *wants* to be petted. Like a cat she's indifferent, aloof, and still a big baby. Keeps dogs away..other cats too. Only thing she keeps away from is coyotes...for good reason I guess.

I saw a greeting card at the store, it said on the front - Men are like cats... Inside it said, Just when you think you've got them figured out, they go and do something cute.
So true!

Anyway, we had a feral cat hanging around about five years ago, it was killing all the pheasant chicks. Angered me, because I wanted those chicks to grow up so I could kill them and eat them. Finally caught up with that cat and shot her. If that sounds cold hearted, there is nothing more devastating to populations of small mammals and ground nesting birds than a cat. Very true, that!!! We have zero quail anywhere near my place I live in the country and there are always dogs and cats getting dumped near us, so I set live traps and catch a lot of cats. My rule is this, if when I walk up to the trap and it goes "Meow" it gets a pass. If it hisses at me, then it gets a complete lobotomy with the .22 I also have a "barn snake" At least one big speckled king about 5 feet long has been around for a while. Saw one ran over on the road near us and though he was a goner, but saw him or another like him the other day, so still have a good mouser on the place

Finally got filezilla working again, so I can upload pictures. Here is CAT, the tuxedo cat we have now. Whenever we play darts, he likes to "help". I saw a show one time where they were saying that one of the first signs of a species becoming domesticated is that it changes to a black and white pattern. I think all cats started as tuxedo cats. Meant to add something to the feline penchant for killing small animals. - My neighbor had a rat problem because of old furniture on his porch. That made it my problem. Back when Baron was alive, he single pawedly destroyed the nest. Several mornings in a row, I got up, looked out the window and saw dead rats in the neighbor's yard. Found one in mine and, bless his heart, found 2 in my house that I didn't even know were here! He was an awesome barn cat! Cat, on the other hand could care less. We had a rodent this past winter and he just ignored it. I would love it if he would kill some squirrels! I hate those sonsofbitches.

Bushman, does the kitty have a name? I absolutely love the face closeup! What is going on in that little kitty brain? So hard to tell... Ah, the mysteries of cats.

Enjoyed seeing everyone's kitty pics! Here's our Max that I adopted when I worked at the local Humane Society. He'll be 12 in November. Not sure, but I think he's a Norwegian Forest cat. Max watching his favorite movie, "Eight Below." We usually shave him during the summer. Flossing his teeth on our rod and reels Waking to find his fish fossils that @rocks2dust sent to him Checking out what I did to "his" CabMate In the mineral 'catbinet' that he frequently guards Chillin' Here's a female feral cat, Miss Opalite Squeaky, or Squeaky, that hangs out around outside our home and I feed. and our neighbors Tuxedo cat that comes over for an occasional meal Received this in an email: DOG DIARY 8:00 AM - Dog food! My favorite thing! 9:30 AM - A car ride! My favorite thing! 9:40 AM - A walk in the park! My favorite thing! 10:30 AM - Got rubbed and petted! My favorite thing! 12:00 PM - Lunch! My favorite thing! 1:00 PM - Played in the yard! My favorite thing! 3:00 PM - Wagged my tail! My favorite thing! 5:00 PM - Milk bones! My favorite thing! 7:00 PM - Got to play ball! My favorite thing! 8:00 PM - Wow! Watched TV with the people! My favorite thing! 11:00 PM - Sleeping on the bed! My favorite thing! CAT DIARY Day 983 of my captivity! My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. The sick bastards! There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies'. I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow - but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He obviously has issues.

That's funny Jan. I'd read it before but enjoyed seeing it again. As for our cat, you couldn't force him to leave his free meals, petting sessions and comfy lounging/sleeping areas with a cattle prod. But he *has* begun playing tanglefoot with us -- I'm thankful our house doesn't have any stairs.
Your cat Max joins many other great cats in this thread. They're fascinating animals that have us humans totally figured out.
