Well, I realize most of the folks here are dog lovers (me too!), but there are also some cat fanciers around. Or maybe you are one that likes both? I used to have both, but have been cat-less for a few years now. The dogs have already had their doo due, so let's let the cats out of the bag!
I asked my sister to send me a photo of her manx cat. I told sis I would immortalize her kitty! This is Jesse Due to failing health, my sis made the hard decision to end her suffering. I went with her to the vets on Monday and had her put down. She was 17 1/2.
As mentioned, I no longer have any cats, but I have had four of them over the years. Here's two of them. Dusty
Wendy She was abandoned at birth by her mom, got her the day she was born. Bottle fed her, all that.
Shadow and Wendy. They got along famously. Got Wendy from the veterinarian's office when I took Shadow in for an ear infection. They kinda talked me into taking her, lol.
All grown up! Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imagined that that little nappy furred black cat would turn into such a beauty! I was told by several people that she looked like a Maine Coon. Could be, have no way of knowing.
Wendy lived to be 21 1/2 years old, a very long life. She lived about a half year after being diagnosed with kidney failure.
I still see her out of the corner of my eye in the kitchen, and my husband swears he feels her jump up on his bead and walk across it with little cat feet.
I've got some (non-digital) photos somewhere of the first two cats, will have to scan them before I can add.
So, let's see pics of your favorite (or not so favorite, lol) felines! Jean

Awsome cats! I love the Bengal. That older cat, looks like a Norwegian Forest cat mix. Looks like a winner to me. We have two Asian Leopard cats. 15yrs old now. Do not go outside, just terrorize us in our home. Muffy is Jenne's and Ralph is mine. Gave us joy, back when there was none. Cats are special for sure. They been to Los Angeles and back. Well traveled sophisticated Felines. They rule the roost here.

I have to scrounge for pictures. They aren't on this computer. I'm was strictly a dog person. We moved to a place with a smaller yard, so I didn't want to get another dog- not fair to a dog. We got cats. We had 3 at one point. Jasmine, Baron and Wombat. The last 2 were black cats. Jasmine was a calico. She was the most regal animal. She outlived the others by far and was 25 when she died. No kidding. We put her down, because we thought she was in pain. Probably cancer. She adopted us from the spca when she was 6. Baron was a feral kitten. He was never fully domesticated, but we loved him. He was a one person cat. He liked me and pork rinds. Now we have Cat. He was the neighborhood stray. DH finally suckered me into taking him in after I swore no more. (still reeling from Jazz) He's a trip. Refuses to use a box. He just goes out to do his business and comes right back in. He's more like a dog than a cat. UPDATE: I'm having problems uploading pictures to my website, so I can't share any of my kitty pictures. So sad, I have one with a big rat sitting on Wombat's back, too.

love any stories or photos about critters. We have one dog and one cat currently, have done a life of rescues and rehabs of cats, dogs, horses, ponies, mules, burros, goats, ducks, geese, chickens.. so love them all. This is a huge cat in a little cat body... he has mild dwarfism which has slightly shortened his facial features and his legs. His body and tail remain at full size, however. When he moves he looks like Peppy le Peu... like a ferret/weasel. He is surly in attitude. Has kitty PTSD. And maybe a little Napoleon complex going on. If he had fingers, he would rule the world. It is my belief that this is what separates cats from monkeys.. same brains, different bodies. His name is Beau Maverick after the black suited- white shirted gambler in the old Maverick western tv show. He is 4 years old and was a street kitty rescue.

Leave it to James to come up with something useful to use a cat for, lol!
Looks like there are many more dog lovers here than cat lovers. But I knew we had a few of them by the cat hair in some of the photos of cabs and jewelry. (tee hee)
Will get a couple pics up of my other two (late) cats after I rip them out of old photo albums and scan them.

I've been trying to find a new home for mine. No takers yet though On a serious note, I do like most cats. We adopted one from a litter that was being given away in a wal mart parking lot a couple of years ago. Just a super nice kitten and I got pretty attached to it. We came home late one evening after dark and I went across the road to check the mail. Only one car came by, but unbeknownst to me, the kitten had followed me and got ran over. No more cats for me

Sad story, funny pic! Before I scrolled down to see the pic, I thought it might have been one of those black and white striped kitties. You know, a polecat? Thanks, radio for the laugh.

I had a litter of kittens that were abandoned by the mom before their eyes even opened. My pug raised them. I bottle fed them but the dog cleaned and cuddled them and he even pottie trained them. I'll try to find pictures when I get home. The cats quickly got bigger than "Dad" but he kept them in line

Okay, so I've spent the better part of the last couple hours looking through photos, and getting a few worth sharing.
Sorry about bad pic quality here, had to crop my @ss out of the photo, so lost some definition. This is our first cat, Sneaky. Her favorite place/way to lounge. She would retrieve bottle caps frisbeed down the hallway. Possibly the most intelligent cat we had. Although she did get ran over by a car.
Her replacement, Sneaky II. See the resemblance to the Kliban cat?
For whatever reason, she didn't really like me. She was Bob's cat.
A few more images of Dusty. He was cute when he was little.
Ever notice how a cat can stretch at will to take up a whole bed? He was a big cat, 20+ lbs, but still...
His favorite spot to lay.
On the front porch. He was an interesting looking kitty. His mom was a scrawny black cat, dad was a large Siamese, hence the blue eyes.
Lastly, this is Mandy. She actually predates all these other ones. I never had her at my home, she was at my parents. But she is the kitten that I told you about that came home from the junkyard when I got a used tranny for my Corvair. Late 70s or so. She was a sweetie, disappeared one night when our animal hating neighbor had a party, and their friends were parking up the street and walking down to the house. Think she followed someone, hopefully went home with them, and not disposed of by said neighbor.
Had a few more cats growing up, but don't have pics of them (I know, that's okay with y'all. Probably seen enough, lol!)

Some cool pictures in here for people who like cats. I grew up on a farm and we had cats galore in the cow barn, and we usually had a dog or seven running around. The old saying was "houses are for people, barns are for animals". I'm not a cat hater, they have their place in this world. Prefer dogs, we don't have one now for several reasons. Anyway, we had a feral cat hanging around about five years ago, it was killing all the pheasant chicks. Angered me, because I wanted those chicks to grow up so I could kill them and eat them. Finally caught up with that cat and shot her. If that sounds cold hearted, there is nothing more devastating to populations of small mammals and ground nesting birds than a cat. Two days later Cyndi heard a noise and went snooping around. Found this little furball in the woodpile, thing fit in the palm of my hand. I was sure it wouldn't live, but it did, and here's how it spends its' winters. Poor abused thing. I'd still rather have a good dog. Russ P.S. All the farms around here have black and white cats. I reckon this thing is related to itself at least six different ways. Stupidest cat I've ever seen. P.P.S. The cat's name is Butt Nugget. More commonly called Idiot.

My tiny cat rules 3 big hounds(lion hounds). they are scared to death of that little cat. You know the rule - pics, James, or it doesn't exist! Russ, I'm with you, I'd rather have a good dog, too. They are so darn cute as kittens, but then they turn into cats. No more cats for me. The feral cats around my neighborhood are all white with black as well. A shallow gene pool for sure. Around here, they have programs where if you trap the cats and bring them in, you can get them spayed or neutered for low or no cost. Then they get turned loose again. They play hell with the songbird population, and the balance of nature. I can see where they would be useful, like the barn cats, but there are just too many of them competing for limited resources. However, it doesn't seem like they've made a dent in the rat population. I really don't like them eating the lizards in my yard, either!

Ha ha, who ya calling blind? I have never let a raccoon into the house. However, one time I had taken my glasses off to use my camera with flash to capture some cactus blooms in the dark. I heard a rustling noise about ten feet away from me. Thinking it was Lucy, coming to see what I was up to, I pointed and snapped a pic. The flash illuminated a skunk moseying towards me! The pic I took that night was posted on the forum somewhere, about a year ago, when skunks were frequent visitors to my yard. They still visit, but I haven't actually seen one in the flesh lately, just the holes they dig in the lawn and mulchpile, looking for grubs.

Here's a pic of my cat Puddin. That's a 7" diameter bowl she's eating out of. She's a yard cat...stays outside all the time. Almost 3 years old now. And unlike most of the women I know, seems to be a bit perturbed with me taking her picture.. lol And I just this this is funny.
