Thanks Chris Yep I can be hard to follow I just have lots of strange occurrences going on that I throw out there But it was Retha, the gal I helped saved from the brain aneurysm, that missed out on the parole picnic Her decision making skills is less than stellar Ha ha I had mentioned cappocola to her and she never tried it So I bought some along with cheese & crackers and I plan on treating her to a picnic style treat but she doesn't like wine and couldn't find the time to go bad decision Well I did take her out for a Harvey Wineburger That’s a famous old bar in Phoenix that makes these unique hamburgers. She puts mayonnaise on her French fries as I said --her decision making is not exactly stellar Dates Chris ? hhhmmmmmm…. I've got a few years on ya. But I been stood up more than I’ve went on them. So hang in there. They are missing out on an upcoming chef ! Ed

o to explain edcrisp’n Its the way I eat a cheese crisp. I crumble tortilla chips on a half of the crisp, add bit of salsa, then add another slice of cheese crisp on that, sandwich style, and enjoy. I call it edcrisp’n. I ask out anyone if they want to go out edcrisp’n

A lot of Mexican dishes that I haven't a clue on,we go to a local Mom and Pop Mexican cafe and give these foods a try. If we like it,we than try it out at home, that way your only out the one meal you payed for at the cafe,if you didn't like it.. As for Italian,I was eating that food in Europe at 19 years old and loved it all... Really hard to find great Italian food around the states, like Italy dished out!So I cook my own and it comes very close to what I use to eat while overseas....Thumps up Don't be afraid to experiment with food, that's how you become better at the trade...LOL It's like building a house, once you know the ropes,it goes up in no time...Same with food, you will be able to throw a dish together in your sleep.........(so to speak)..LOL

I knew that was going to be controversial subject German you say ? I do believe your right Mayonnaise is only for tuna & potato salad I felt bad for Retha cause all Harvey Wineburgers Restaurant had was those little condiment mayonnaise packages for her fries I had to open them empty into the container for her to dip I only like ketchup for fries and for some reason on my pot roast I won't put it on my hot dogs or hamburgers mustard, onions, pickles-- Whataburger type of guy well this is a fun subject while I'm assembling rock'n hearts polishing & eating makes for a merry mohs

Pommes frites I just looked that up Mike don't recall of hearing of them before I don't know ? ... maybe I'm missing something it could be a geological thing maybe in the northern climes mayonnaise is favored in the desert-- mayonnaise is a bit shun perhaps because of the heat?

Ed, in French "pomme" means "apple." They call potatoes "pommes de terre," literally "apples of the earth." The term "pommes frites" simply means "fried potatoes." Not very romantic, huh? Tomato ketchup was first made from "love apples" (tomatoes) in 1812. Prior to that time most people were afraid to eat tomatoes, thinking they were poisonous. Maybe the European preference for mayo developed because the French invented it long ago, they were afraid of tomatoes and mayo was an easily-available condiment. Tomato ketchup was mainly available in the U.S. so maybe we developed a different taste. Just guessing.

so the 's' in pomme changes the meaning from apple to potato ? Quail would agree I'm sure what if a pommes fell on Newton head instead of pomme?

That some interesting information Rick
I would have never suspected that the tomato was a shun food for so long
Heck I assumed they were eaten from the beginning No tomato are mentioned in the Bible ? What about Homer's Iliad ? Alexander the Great really missed out Shakespeare would of had some great toast!
It easy to assume the tomato is indigenous to the Mediterranean And it just isn’t true. There just no end to things I never really thought about.
And why didn’t the Mayan invent Bolognese Sauce?
