Just had a message from the guy with the Deer Sky claim. My box will ship tomorrow. He's filling it with mostly unproven pieces. He says that if he takes a slab off the end of a piece & likes what he sees, the rough goes in his personal cut pile. So to be fair he only sends unproven material. He has a no questions asked return policy on anything he sends.

My Deer Sky material just arrived. All I can say is WOW !! At least 3 pieces are showing the red streaked sky. This is gonna be some purdy material. I'll try to get pics of the rough posted this evening.

WooHoo, that's some gorgeous material, jakesrocks!  Thanks for posting them for us to admire. Does the 4th one have dendrites in it? I see the sun peeking out in the 6th one that has some kick arse colors in it and a gorgeous landscape scene! Your second piece of Deer Sky rough has some wicked patterns in it. Please kick up yer heels and let your back rest, Don! Gotta get ready to crank up your new saw when it arrives. |

Jan, I think the dendrites are only on the surface.
3 of the pieces are showing that flamingo red color in the sky areas.
Some of the Deer Sky material has some really wild swirly patterns in it.
And now to sit back in my recliner with Jake at my side. Gotta get the back in shape for lifting that saw when it arrives Tuesday. Maybe even Monday. It left Ft Worth at 8:00 this morning.
