*LOL* You see folks, dumbasses like parfive believe that if we cut fossil fuel use, tax the Hell out of everyone in this country, and start building more wind/solar generation, that all of a sudden the weather will stop being the "weather" and folks will stop being killed by it. Weather always has the capacity to be deadly. Perhaps it's because we Texans are used to interesting weather, we are more realistic and do not live in the liberal world of fantasy where doofuses actually believe we can somehow change the weather so everyone in the world will not be too cold or too hot and everyone gets the perfect amount of rain. Any intelligent beings ( leaving out Gore, Obama, Kerry, Hildo, libs in general etc of course) who have taken classes in weather/climate and geology knows this just will never be. The weather will always be bad somewhere, weather /climate changes constantly, and folks just have to accept it. Rather than fossil fuels, the footprint of an ever increasing human population and man's destruction of the planets substrate by paving, building, deforesting, desertification etc etc is probably one of the more important things changing the weather and climate and that ain't gonna stop so we may as well accept it and quit listening to the climate change gurus who are mostly feathering their own nests at the expense of all of us. If you really think of it in biological terms, weather is a good thing as bad weather helps control human population. If the weather were perfect, human population would increase even faster .....Mel Don't you just love normal well spaced flood water?

Hey spiritstone... What's the world on Ft McMurray? Fantastic news! Most of the province received a foot of snow or heavy rain the last couple days. The weather has done a 360 and rain all week for Fort Mac and is falling steady now. They are holding the fire line, and bringing in 1000 more firefighters too snuff it out. Over 500000 hectares burned up. Cold and wet here, but no one is complaining. ![](http://i.imgbox.com/etIE6WQN.jpg) ![](http://i.imgbox.com/SQPURmno.jpg)

That's really, really great news! But, let me get this straight... weren't y'all experiencing a heat wave which contributed to the fire? Now it is snowing? Man, you even have our weather beat on that one.

Man, you even have our weather beat on that one. You got it right! El Nino caused a abnormal winter-spring starting in feb, that left us in these dry-hot conditions. The rain and snow the last couple days was as much as we received all winter. it sure is going to help since seeding has started on most farms. Before this wet stuff , it was just a dustbowl. One thing i learned living here....is you can expect all four seasons in 24hrs Hahaha.

I saw this from NOAA just a couple days ago, the cold water was starting to move back in on the pacific coast. Its still warm on the surface but not very deep.

James F. Black (1919-1988) was the Scientific Advisor in the Products Research Division of Exxon Research & Engineering, and one of the top technical people at Exxon Research & Engineering until his retirement in 1983. In 1977, Black told Exxon's management committee of top executives that emerging science showed that carbon dioxide levels were rising, likely driven by fossil fuel use, and such increases would boost global temperatures, leading to widespread damage.insideclimatenews.org/news/15092015/Exxons-own-research-confirmed-fossil-fuels-role-in-global-warming

When man first appeared on Earth he had no implements, no clothes, no farms and no mineral fuels – his only tools were his brains, hands and muscles. Everything that enables mankind to live comfortably in a world where nature is indifferent to our survival has been discovered, invented, mined or created by our inventive ancestors over thousands of years. There are seven big steps on the human energy ladder – fire, farming, solar power, gunpowder, coal, the steam engine and nuclear power. Nothing stands still on planet Earth. Since the dawn of time, Earth has seen continual geological and climatic change – shifting continents, rising and falling sea levels, volcanos and tsunamis, droughts and floods, migrations and extinctions, hurricanes and heat waves, ice ages and warm eras. Humans flourished in the warm eras and suffered in the cold dry eras. Access to abundant, reliable energy enables man to survive these and the future climate challenges which are sure to come. Today’s massive global human population owes its existence, prosperity and comfort to our economical and reliable energy supplies, particularly the hydrocarbon fuels – oil, coal, and gas. The world supports more people with fewer famines; and those with access to abundant reliable energy supplies have stabilised their populations and contribute most to caring for nature, culture and the poor. And the carbon dioxide recycled by the usage of hydrocarbon fuels is greening the world and adding to food supplies as native and farmed plants flourish in the warm, moist, carbon-rich atmosphere. carbon-sense.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/energy-deniers.pdf

A cloud of dust on the long white road, And the teams go creeping on Inch by inch with the weary load; And by the power of the green-hide goad The distant goal is won. But the rains are heavy on roads like these; And, fronting his lonely home, For weeks together the settler sees The teams bogged down to the axle-trees, Or ploughing the sodden loam.
