Another FYI... Concerning balance, yes oil got us here... So did the covered wagon and gold. Gold used to be worth $20 an ounce. There were no five dollar bills. They were $5 gold coins and hemp oil was burned in lamps and was less than a dollar a gallon. The air was clean as well. When I go all the way off the grid I will have photovoltaic, hydro generators and wind generators. This iPad I am using right now can use satellite connections in the wilderness. I also reload my own ammo.... Can you survive... Billy? Everything you said is true. But its a different world now. Hemp oil is a great product. But to use it as a replacement for oil would be useless. To make 9 million barrels a day of hemp oil to replace oil. There would be no land left to grow food. Greens........they never look at the big picture. Yes I could and can survive without oil. But why? Looks like you can't. Your generators,i-pad and ammo are mined and made with fossil fuels. Enjoy your life style. Just don't force it on people who want a different life style. Who has forced anything? If you want to believe Houston area flooding is just weather and normal, No worries. I am fine and enjoying my retirement and lifestyle. There is time. Not much but there is time... I did not once allude to hemp oil replacing anything. In fact hemp oil is better suited as an omega fatty acid supplement and the hemp seed kernel provides a remarkably high quality protein with absolutely no psychoactive properties. I'm still not suggesting hemp replace anything. If anything needs replacing it is fossil fuel. That stuff is finite and takes a friggin longtime to to regenerate. Hemp grows in the ground. It is a weed.it does not take much water. (BTW... If you try and say it is proven to need 6 gallons of water per day per plant, come on over! I'll prove you wrong

You may not think your forcing the global warming hoax on us. But in reality your are. Your playing right into the Gov. plan. You spread the anti-oil propaganda and the gov is using people like you to help force it down our throats. Goggle Ontario's new green energy plan. Do you really want your grand kids paying the high taxes and electricity costs that come with it? business.financialpost.com/news/economy/with-twice-the-debt-of-california-ontario-is-now-the-worlds-most-indebted-sub-sovereign-borrowerFYI...... Oil and gas will last the earth for hundreds of years to come. Right now any oil or gas zone can only produce about 30% of its reserve. That means that it will take new tech to get the rest. Plus new discoveries are being made everyday. It will still be viable for 10 or more generations to come. I agree with you about hemp oil. A mature plant takes about a gallon a day to grow indoors. Outdoors they have a very aggressive tap root that will find the water it needs.

I don't care what you believe... I've always been a loner anyway.... With that I am outa here... I am certain you will be here for decades longer than me...

bushmanbilly, you are the one that did not read all. I stated that "fossil fuels will be around for a long time to come". You used up a whole page arguing your point with mrzulu because you got pissed with me because you either did not read or ignored what I wrote. Watch Vuduciel with an open mind that is willing to learn instead of a closed mind that knows it knows everything. It is a series on Netflix that covers the entire planet and how we are killing ourselves. Oh yeah, and they show proof so you do not need to ignore what I say, you can just rant and call them liars. I have given up arguing with people that are so ingrained in their beliefs that they are 100 percent certain there is no possibility they could be wrong. Have you even taken a look at what might be happening instead of just reading Exxon magazine. By the way, Exxon has admitted that they knew they were harming the environment back in the seventies but shortly after releasing their findings they covered it up a short time later. GOOGLE it. Jim

Mr. Green Jean's made me some fine fuel bushmanbilly. The corn whiskey has sabotaged carburetors across the country. Constantly draining carbs on small equipment to remove residue from corn fuel. People are pouring the gasohol off daily to keep their equipment running. Often on to the ground because of job circumstances. Looking forward to some of your genuine petrol Dale: Newnan Motorcycle shop reports 90% of their maintenance business is cleaning carburetors. Personally have had to open and clean 5 carbs on small equipment in past two months.

Been wondering about the Mead. The 15-30 year drought cycles that are believed to occur out west may be at play presently. Not sure what factors are involved, no matter. The lake has been dropping for 10 years with no evidence of changing. Precipitation is the only solution and of course beyond man's control. What to do ?

Was in the oilfields for over 22 years, raised eight kids and had a happy home......Second generation oilworker(my three brothers and Dad) too,now going on the 3th generation with two of my youngest boys... Making a good living doing what they like...If I was young enough again,I would head back into it and be happy about it!! This clean energy crap and higher costs to use it sucks to high heaven!!! Electrical bills were cheaper in ND,than Oregon,ND used coal and oil, plus natural gas,not hydro and wind power... We even gets taxed for the two dams they have on the Columbia River here in Oregon! I will stick with and vote fossil fuels in,any day of the week, month and (or) year!!! It treated me good for many years!!

They are drilling water wells requiring oil rigs at a quarter million a pop in California. Aren't you folks concerned about the future of growing food much less fuel ? More importantly, having water. I have a small farm here in Georgia with 3 nice creeks. I raise plants for a living. About 4 years ago a 3 month drought hit and forced me to drill a well in an emergency situation. We just happen to have great ground water at 200-300 feet with close well spacing(3 acre tracts). If forced to drill 1000-2000 feet this whole county would be bankrupt and abandoned. I find the California water shortage to be a great threat to your state and your vast population. When water is not available it only takes a few days to realize how desperate the situation is. It is a most unforgiving situation. The future looks bleak when analyzing ice pack and Colorado River inputs w/long term drought. Perhaps there is a solution. I certainly hope so.

No, its actually not. It's a very hot one, going to burn underground for months, should have control of it by the time the snow flies again. The scale of it size would be over 5000 km in area. The 300 South African Firefighters arrived yesterday to help battle it. A short vid....at the link. www.edmontonsun.com/videos/4918802626001The weather has flipped, rain has falllen on and off for days. Were almost back on track for a normal precipitation average for the year, just from the last few days of constant rainfall, which is a good thing. Good times if your a duck, Hahaha

Jim I don't have netflix so I can't watch your propaganda film. As for Exxon saying they were harming the planet. That was in the 1970's. Tech has changed alot since then. By 1970 logic they should have been called hero's and saviors of the planet. I will help you with your one sided memory. In the 70's your so called climate experts were predicting a ICE AGE! They wanted to cover the ice sheets with coal dust, ie carbon!!! Your wannabe scientists have to pick witch one it is. Cooling or warming? Whats their flavor of the day today?

Jim, I will tell what pisses me off. Its the do gooders like you, Rich and Mr. zulu that prance around claiming to be earths soldiers. Bad mouthing the oil industry every chance you get. But have the nerve to enjoy the benefits that oil has brought all of us. Like I said before, stop using oil and its products. Trust me by tonight you all would be cold and shivering in your cave or stick hut. Walk you talk or just shut the f**kup. Sorry but that rigger talk. Straight and to the point, if that offended anyone. I'm sure Obama has a safe space for you.

Right now, oil is the only way to go. Research should continue and we should strive to find better solutions. In the meantime, it's oil. It's just that simple. We can't do without it. I'm all for a cleaner way to produce the myriad of products that oil creates. Who wouldn't be? But, the sad fact is, there ain't one. There just is no sense in people getting riled up over it. People are right on both sides of the issue. We should do better, but since we can't right now- oil is the answer.
BTW- I don't think that our oil use is destroying the planet. I think we are too dependent on a finite resource.
I have heard of some really intriguing research on a plant that excretes an oil product. I can't remember the details- I heard about the research a few years ago. Now, that would be friggin' sweet.
