The shine on that lab is unreal. It's the best polish I've ever seen on a lab

Got good news. I begged and pleaded and wheedled and I can get access to the shop for a few hours this week!

Aw man, got tricked! The shop was open...for people to come help sort through the junk and rearrange equipment. No cabbing, but I got to meet and hang out with some new people.

Being I was tagged to be a possible cabber entering this month's contest, Here's mine............ This was a small slabette laying around I had slabbed awhile back, maybe a year or two. The slab was somewhat softer than most Linda Marie, Idaho material I have cabbed so I was a bit worried as to the finish polish I could achieve. Anyway here's the finished cab.......... Slab........... Preform........ Finished cab...... The cab took a awesome polish and contained very few pits. Thanks for looking, 39don

I will be trying some local material that I think the same about!

Well I figured I would post my start now.. I forgot to take a photo of the preform per say but here is my incomplete slab and cab start.. along with another preforum. I'll post the final product when I finish it. This is actually quite soft material.

I am glad I logged in today and found out about this, it's great to see someone stepped up to get the challenge going again. Thanks for all the hard work and everyone who has already entered. I will get me something together.

I will get me something together. I always like challenging myself to create new things so this is one thing that allows me to produce at least 1 cab per month! Also by challenging myself I learn a lot.

I am calling or the following cabbers Appreciate being included Tommy. I haven't been able to do much/any real cabbing this month. Have had some major "life challenges" recently and barely get a chance to hit the boards, much less cut anything Looks like there has been some great entries and it is going to be difficult to pick a favorite! I am looking forward to seeing the other entries!

Prize for November will require a minimum of 10 entries to be won. If we don't get at least 10 entries I'll leave it up to Glenn if he wants to carry the prize forward into the next month until we do. I think it's a good prize - I'm calling out the following cabbers and I'm sure I missed a few. If even half of you participate we will give away the box. NDK cobbledstones Don roy jakesrocks rockpickerforever micellular rockjunquie Bluesky78987 NM Stone Supply Drummond Island Rocks TByrd rxscram The Dad_Ohs spiritstone tothesummit broseph82 Roger 39don glennz01adding: beefjello - how could I forget Brian!? heehee Donnie's Rocky TreasuresTry to follow Glenn's weird theme and lets have a good turnout. Large flat-rate box stuffed with mostly slabs but also some tumbling rough for box-fill. There is every kind of rock in here - agates, jaspers, onyx, marble, aventurine etc. (and that's just the top row) I filled this box about six months ago and tried to sell it on Facebook for $100 but didn't get any takers so I would rather give it away to someone from the board than to take less than that. I haven't seen the bottom several inches layer of slabs in over six months so I honestly can't remember what's in there anymore. The box weighs around 30lbs - my hand-held fish scale tops out at 26lbs and it still had a ways to go. If the winner is outside of the domestic USA I will need help with the shipping cost - will advise how much. We can cross that bridge if we get there. i have been trying but have broke the last three i think you put a hex on me or some other form of voodoo

Sounds good, you can count me in. I have a few days off coming up,I should be able to come up with something. Its my busy season just finishing up making artificial ice indoors and working on my last outdoor sheet before one of those Arctic Vortex's they call it, and a foot of snow maybe? slated to crash in on Tues hits us. Some overtime tomorrow then a 2 day window for rest and back at it during the cold snap when it arrives "best time make it" Just strung up the Christmas lights today around the loops.
