Thanks for the call out TommyThis is my first attempt at cabbing pietersite but I think it came out pretty nice. I have zero experience with this stuff so I dont know if cabs with more blue are more desirable or if cabs with more of a blue/brown mix are. I liked the blue so I tried to get mostly blue in the cab. Slab preform Cab Thanks for looking Chuck

Well I figured I would post my start now.. I forgot to take a photo of the preform per say but here is my incomplete slab and cab start.. along with another preforum. I'll post the final product when I finish it. This is actually quite soft material. Finally finished.. This came out better than expected. some of the matrix rock present tended to undercut a bit but everything else was nice... This rock contains covellite, chrysocolla, epidote, quartz, calcite, and much more.. My local geologist said it has everything but a hot tub Only 3 more entries needed to fill the prize donor's requirements.

Ok. I am hoping to get enough entries to send out the prize box this month and if my math is correct, this is number ten. Not the best cab but still ok. I forgot the slab and the preform but here is the finished cab. Mexican Crazy Lace

I have an entry planned (Holly blue with moss), just have to buff out the polish...but an end-of-year deadline has me in the office all weekend. Will see if I can polish rocks for relaxation tonight or tomorrow night.

Coming in with another hand-polished cab! Many sheets of sandpaper sacrificed their lives for the cause. Slab Pre-form done to 80 grit thanks to PatSanded to 1000 grit Backlit Final polish Fractures sealed with Opticon (thanks to bobby1's great tutorial!) Bonus video of the polish because by golly I earned it.
