Hey @shotgunner , please clarify - Is the wonderful prize so thoughtfully being provided by Roger being given this month, or for June's competition? Seems he said: ... Â Â But - I will sponsor next month's (June 2016) contest prize, if okay. I have a 12# Star Diamond rotary tumbler with a Lortone 12# Barrel that I don't want or need. It is used, but both parts are in good condition. Photos of it are posted in "The buy sell and swap shop" section of the members forum.
EDIT: After talking with Scott more, I will put together a flat-rate box of small rough to send the winner Roger Thank yoouuuuuu!!! And thank you, Roger! I had intended for next month to give more people an opportunity to prepare and enter the contest but i think @shotgunner wanted to jumpstart this into a real monthly contest asap. Either way, the prize is boxed and ready for a shipping label:)

Ok folks I have pics of my tumble contest first batch out of the Loto, it includes regular tumbles and buff face tumble cabs. I just saw the buff faced ones and put them in 220 in the Loto. No grinding or rotary on them. It's down n dirty tumble cabs# LOL
The individuals shown in the closeup are on a very large piece of petrified wood from Cap. The one is a Thunder Egg and its been in the rotary for a couple years on and off. There is also a smaller Thunder Egg that was in for there that was whole when it started and it's not as nice, might rotary it some more. There is also a piece of Lucin Variscite and a very well rounded piece of you guessit. The pics are outside on a partly cloudy day. Not sure what my entry will be, I will have at least one more Loto load and maybe two out this month to pick from. The lovely Susan and I agree that this batch was the worst overall ever out of my Loto! LOL
Hey thanks Tommy!!!

I have never entered the cab contest and I don't even look at it very often. What is voting etiquette for contestants? Do we not vote at all, vote for someone else, or vote for ourselves? In the Big Fun Tumbling Contest, I voted for someone else because it didn't seem right to vote for myself.

Voting is anonymous. I say vote for the best rock, even if it's yours! Jugglerguy, pm me the three pics you want to represent your entry in the poll. The post for the poll could get unwieldy if I do them all for everyone. Thanks for playing!!!

I wonder if I should consider a nature shaped category and artist shaped....
Meaning stones cut with a final shape in mind, not cabs but more slabs.... Vs. rocks broken naturally, either in nature or in captivity.....

Maybe this contest should be sub-divided between rotary and vibe tumblers?
For instance, I have a 3lb lortone and a month really is a short time from start to finish.

The tumbling contest is new here just this month, so there are a lot of details that still need to be worked out. But since many of us do rough tumbling in a rotary tumbler, and fine tumbling and polish in a vibe, which category would you suggest they enter their tumbles into?

Maybe this contest should be sub-divided between rotary and vibe tumblers? For instance, I have a 3lb lortone and a month really is a short time from start to finish. The rock I entered tumbled for several months. I think what's important is the month it gets done. I was lucky to have taken a before picture. I don't think I'll have a rock ready to post in June because I don't have before pictures for most rocks that are tumbling now. By the way, welcome to the forum!
