I recently got into this great hobby and have enjoyed learning new ideas from you seasoned vets. I just wish I could just paste a photo on the boards though. I really don't want to go sign up for some other account just to share a pic now and then. What happened to when I could just paste a photo from my Flicker account? Now I have to join cloudinary???

I know it seems like a pain, but it works seamlessly with our proboards host. After you are set up, all you do is drag and drop. It's free. And it's easy- just follow Tommy's directions.

Thanks, maybe I'll look into it. I had wanted to post a pic of my first groove wrapped cab. Actually, it's the first wire wrap of any kind I've done but I don't really feel like going through the process to sign up for that right now. Maybe later as I do enjoy sharing and learning here. We all agree with you - it's a pain in the butt dealing with 3rd part hosting because the Forum software is not photo friendly. It's the hand we were dealt way back in 2004 when back then it was hard to envision the board growing to over a million posts 16 years later. Cloudinary is the closest thing we've ever been able to find to free, integrated, drag-and-drop photo posting here on this forum software platform. You can still use Flickr but since they got bought by Smugmug they are imposing limits on the free account and folks are reporting their photos being deleted

Hi my name is Kenny,, and I'm a Geoholic.. with adhd .. so don't recall exactly how i found my self here as i bookmarked it and placed it in a folder and headed out to the desert to find.. Well still looking.. but have found a ton leavitrits and wonderits..! this Forum is yet another very important tool in my bucket.. Problem is when i seek to get or share some info is when I'm off the grid and unable to get online until i return.. Then im usually so deep into many books seeking to identify my green n white n tan n black with spots of red and yellow raw material yet everything i find leads to something else and the images posted are 90% cut n polished and 10x larger than the one that I'm looking at between my fingers.. so at somepoint i conclude I've found almost everytype known in Oregon then get online and research more and now I've got a great looking path thru my garden,, when it rains. If i lost ya'll in that i apologize.. Anywho. If i may let me restate -- Hi my name is Kenny and my Wife is Lisa and we both are Geoholics .! .. Love your Forum here - thank you for years worth of understanding that we can both dive into and from what I've seen, we can tread water here! Unlike most places I've saved to research thru.. orbin pdf's and mindat an many others reports that i end up looking up every other word for understanding to where i eventually lost the reason i went to it in the first place..

Online searches for various bits of info got me here when I first started cutting.
Joined after we'd met some of the folks who were at Tony's a few years ago.
Didn't cut anything but opal in the beginning, so the RTH has been a big part of turning me into a real rockhead.

I was given a pastels cleaner (vibratory cleaner ) the other day so I am beginning the experimental stage and was looking for ways to clean my rocks better and what options are out there with different types of material. I live on the Columbia River in SW Washington and we have lots of sand. I also have some sand / ash from the banks of the Lewis river near the base of Mount Saint Helens that is very fine . I came across this forum whilst searching to see if and how I would use the sand and if it would be a good idea or just waste my MSH sand.
