After watching every rock tumbling video I could find on YouTube, I then did a google search for rock tumbling forums and found this one to be the best by far.

Looking for the best Lapidary tools for a beginner. Found some neat multi-function machines. Trying to determine if better to buy that or several tools that do one specific task.

Looking for an instruction manual for an old B & I Gem makers flat lap machine and the search engine directed me to an old post on this sight from someone who had one and was willing to share it. I hope I can connect with that person.

Went to the Toledo Rock and Gem show last year. Got the information there, but just now got involved.

Dr. Google brought me here. After sitting on the sidelines, observing, for several months, decided to join in.
There's an overwhelming wealth of knowledge here. The more experience I gain, the more what I've read makes sense. Folks around here know what they're talking about, even if it doesn't sink in at first.
It's a great place and I'm amazed how long it's been around.

I just got my first real tumbler (i.e. not a kid's toy), and my first batch of slurry was getting foamy. Google led me here, and I tried adding borax to the next batch, which works beautifully (thank you turnedstone, cpdad, et al).

I searched the web for like minded folks, found this sight. At my age (68) I need a shortcut to knowledge if I'm to use time efficiently.
