Like many others, I imagine, this site came up when I was considering DIY construction of a rock tumbler. Very much appreciated what I saw, so I signed up. Thanks!

I don't know if it counts as social media, but i was linked here from the Rock Tumbling subreddit. it was a post about using a tire as a tumbler. i had never even considered making one out of a tire. it's an interesting idea. i have never even thought of the various way i could just make my own tumbler. anyway, looking forward to all the good ideas i might find and steal from you guys. Thanks!
As for introductions, i have been tumbling off and on since i was about 10 and got one for christmas. I am currently running an MJR base with a couple standard 3 lb rubber barrels, i can't for the life of me remember which brand they were. next maybe i'll try making a large barrel out of PVC.

Hi! I just joined this forum because it was recommended by "Michigan Rocks" Youtuber. I am interested in polishing multiple types of rocks. It is a hobby I started on my birthday a year ago and my grandchildren love seeing the rocks come out of the final polish. They always select a rock to keep! I have a modified National Geographic Hobby tumbler, a dual 3 lb. Thumbler's Tumbler, and a Thumbler's UV mini vibratory tumbler. I want to try out lots of different rocks in my tumblers. I am also always looking for advice on how to get better results when I tumble. ~ Carolyn

Good afternoon friends. I watched the video of YouTuber "Michigan Rocks". I got carried away with working with stones, we have few such forums in Russia, and this forum is just a treasure for beginners.

Hi. I am taking up the hobby with my son, so I was searching online for some resources. This forum was one of the results.

I found the forum while researching cabbing machines. Search terms lead me to a discussion posted on here and I wanted to ask more questions so I joined.

Like many of you I also came to this forum when watching the video of YouTuber "Michigan Rocks" and he mentioned this forum.
The reason I started to watch rock tumbling videos on YouTube is some social media ads about toy-level rock tumblers...

I was searching the internet for information about flat laps and this site came up a couple of times. I also have several tumblers and other equipment so I am hopeful to gleen (and share) information here.

I came because of Michigan Rocks' Rob ( Jugglerguy on here, I think). He's got fantastic, helpful, and entertaining videos and recommended the forum! Thanks, Rob!
