It's not dead it's resting! I have help coming tomorrow to move it. Have to make a wheelie cart to roll it into that patio. That saw better enjoy its rest.it's going to be very busy soon.lucky it had no oil when i picked up my 24" i haf no idea what i was getting. When i got there the saw still had oil and we hand loaded it onto my trailer, when i got it home int required Me three of my brother's 1 nephew ,my 2 yiungest Son's and 2 friends unloaded by hand oil and all, it is heavey as hell byt it has goid casters on it, what are you cutting first?? Dunno have a couple tons of material to cut. I have a 24" also (but it is temporary down.) I also got it with oil ready to cut. But, my seller turned out to be a friend! And he was equipped to help out, and lived close enough to follow me home and help out on my side too. This saw has no wheels so that is problematic.

I can't wait to be able to use the saw and cabochon table Scott is making for me for my birthday! We have some really awesome rocks, and now we'll be able to work on them whenever we want to! Yay!!!
Such a blast!!!

Put it this way, Scott. He could pick me up on the way over. Then y'all both better bring some adult beverages! I won't be cutting for friends, unless they are here with me. I get busy and things get left behind. So y'all better head on out. On my way, stopping at San Jacinto river, Rio Grande area, spot in AZ where beefjello hounds and the spot in CA where luvtogrow hounds first. I wish....

Great find! As far as unloading and moving around, those Covingtons aren't too bad to move. They're not as heavy as they look. Just have to take that leveling bolt out of the foot before you try to slide them around any. A few years ago I bought two 20" Covingtons at a college surplus auction and was able to unload them both by myself. I built dollies for each of them out of 2x6s and put four Harbor Freight swivel castors on the corners and they roll around easily. Just wish I had more room so I could use both at the same time. Cause every rockhound knows that you can never have too many rocks or too many rock saws - only can have not enough room for them all!

So looks like you are getting more involved instead of less? Cool! Time at work is more manageable. I hired and trained a woman to take up some of the slack, i need two more people and then life gets good again. For now though, I work from home on momdays, am in class tuesday nights and have every sunday 100% free. So, there is some time to cut. This saw must be moved to the shed and add oil, then it cuts. Tumbler is nearing completion. Perhaps tonight even, prolly not. Lol Need pulleys.... Tractor Supply sells them. There's one in Norco: 2195 Hamner Ave Norco, CA 92860 951-735-2216 Tractor Supply pulleys
Scroll down the page a llittle bit, past the motors. What sizes do you require? See anything you like? No excuses, lol.

Set it on a thick piece of plywood and roll it on PVC pipes like I did with my 24" saw when I moved it by my self.

Set it on a thick piece of plywood and roll it on PVC pipes like I did with my 24" saw when I moved it by my self. That is good. I may attach a 2x4 to the levers and strap it to a dolly. Just need some help tipping it, then can move it into place. Have to get it off truck first, then have to be sure it goes thru the gate. May not even go to back yard.

I had to take my chainlink fence gate down to get that saw in the back yard. Disassembling that and digging out the cemented in fence posts was more work than moving the saw. Good luck and take pictures.

Aw, that li'l ole saw is nothing. You should see the machinery we've moved into the back yard - 10 ton Press brake, 4 foot shear, etc... But then we have a rolling gantry with chain fall at our disposal in the front yard, lol. And it helps to have gates wide enough to drive vehicles through.

Two men can lift but not easily walk with this unit. If it fits thru the gate i have a few options. Gate ain't coming down

Set it on a thick piece of plywood and roll it on PVC pipes like I did with my 24" saw when I moved it by my self. Great method. Wife and I moved an 8 x 12 tuffshed using said method. Dug a hole on the side, jacked up with a floor jack, inserted pipe and away she goes.

Trebuchet - I am thinking a new way to move those big chunks of agate closer to the truck, emphasis on closer!
