Awesome deal Scott, way to go ! Frank Thanks Frank! The blade retails for ~$250 I paid less than that!! For the entire kit! But it holds over $100 in oil. I'm tickled to be able to cut slabs for jeannie to cab up.

almost made this post under jeannie login! jamesp i believe we now have the same type saw. I completely understand why you: A) use wood wedges and removed the springs on the bronze clamps. Very difficult to operate using springs and the threads get dragged on the steel threads. and B) use a ratchet to operate the vice clamp. what a nuisance as built! What is your plan for the cross feed thingy? Lastly, I would like to purchase a Hamchet or whatever its called! My welder isnt hot enough!

Saw is looking good! But it holds over $100 in oil. What the heck are you using for oil? How much did it take? Maybe a few bricks in the tank could have lessened the oil necessary. I just figured out (I think) in the last 2 minutes ... Jeannie is your better half? Why didn't I catch on to that before now?

I have six gallons and a 4" cap block in there and i think i need another gallon. Its barely touching the blade. More oil isnt necessarily bad. More means less cleaning. I am using horse laxative mineral oil. There isnt any left in Chino or Pomona (neighboring town). Haha! Yes jeannie is my GF. She aint a gurlie gurl either. Dont get me wrong, she can put on a dress and light up the room, but she also aint afraid to take out a pick and dig out a rock. We have had two hounding trips and both times we both came home filthy and she absolutely loved it! Woot! I win! I wont fault you for missing this. Aint no thang.

Wow Scott congrats! Cant beat the price Brian. If I was paying new prices, I doubt I would go this route. Very thin sheet metal housing and legs, weird vice clamp that has awesome geometry but is difficult to work the way they set it up. Feed screw clamp VERY difficult to operate. There is an interesting polyethylene sheet hanging from the lid. It has a split so it sits both sides of the blade minimizing splash. I am undecided if I like this. Will followup with thoughts on this "feature" that may have even been added after the fact. Tim or John is this sheet normal? AzRockGeek johnjsgems
