rockjunquie , after seeing captbob 's suggestion about "person" on your testimonials page, I was going to suggest changing it to first person. I didn't bother looking at it the other night as I thought it wasn't completed. But, after taking a look this morning to be sure I didn't cross things up, I see you already made the testimonials page first person. Nice move. It personalizes things just that much more, and it keeps the tense consistent with your "about the artist" page which is already first person. Third person is too formal and cold IMHO for your site. Great work. Regards. Dave Thank you for your input. There seem to be 2 camps about the site- 1) I should use the first person to be more human, friendly and personal and 2) I should use the 3rd person to be more business like and trustworthy. I am really torn because I like both and each have good reasons to use each. I'll have to think about this.

Style book says when you add a ‘postrohe you may remove three commas. I have a lot of experience in, not only making jewelry, but in assuring client satisfaction, as well.

If we want to pick on my commas, we'll be here all day.

You can trust that sentence had me sit up in my chair questioning structure and commas while scratching my head. And, that the "as well" at the end sent me wandering about the house muttering to myself! I figured that's just me, and didn't want to get carried away throwing penalty flags. My view is that it is a well designed site for selling her wrapped cabs, and that most visitors won't notice much past the jewelry and prices.

Thank you, captbob! I did fix the sentence, though. I am fully aware of my terrible comma use. I tend to go with the conversational style. Unfortunately, for me and the reader, I sometimes use a comma where I would pause or take a breath. Better: I have a lot of experience in making jewelry and also in assuring client satisfaction.

Stunning site and products Tela. It opened fine on the Mac.
The variety of wraps alone puts you in another class.

Very nice website, Tela. I can't get past looking at the products long enough to skim for any copy errors. It appears you have had plenty of help with that already. As far as the use of commas, I don't think anyone is ever 100% sure on their 'accepted' use. There's always a little doubt, so I wouldn't be brave enough to try and talk someone out of, or into, one. Now, on the other hand, I'd like to work on the use of 'then' and 'than' around here.

Well, I bought a test product, printed a shipping label, checked the emails, and my cart security..... everything is good to go! I AM OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!!! YAY! Damn that was a lot of work.

Now, on the other hand, I'd like to work on the use of 'then' and 'than' around here. Randy, don't even get me started, lol. How 'bout 'your' and 'you're'? 'There' and 'their'? For whatever reason, grammar seems to be a problem area around here. Or maybe I am just fussy? Ha ha.
rockjunquie Tela, great website!!! A++. Now after all the work, you may find you CAN play Etsy's game, and make a go of that still. Websites are a LOT of work, both putting them together and keeping their rankings up, as jamesp can attest to.

Yup, a ton of work!!! I was making new business boards on pinterest all morning. I even posted to FB first time in 3 years, I think. I'm not gonna get rich at this. One thing I do know, though - it will be on MY terms. F**k etsy. Actually, I am thinking to leave it open to drive traffic to my shop. We'll see. It's a fresh new future and anything is possible. What I won't miss is trying to play the list and relist game. I want to get back to making the jewelry I WANT to make, not what I think will sell quick to keep my ratings up.

Can you do that? Send potential clients from your Etsy site to your website? I can see where they might get a bit perturbed at that, but if you can, do it!!

I put my website at the bottom of my product description. However Etsy does not seem to keen on hyperlinking it. It can probably be hyperlinked, never tried.: ******PLEASE PROVIDE PHONE NUMBER IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF ORDER. Jean, if we can't fix 'then' and 'than', those others may be a bridge too far. I would blame my mother, the school teacher, for my grammar fussiness, but I have a sister in law who teaches and I see her misuse those words a lot. Must just be a personality type issue, you either care or could give a rat's ass about it.
So yes, you are fussy, so am I. Just means we care.

I wonder what you think about Pinterest. My crap is not worthy of Pinterest grade, but your jewels and photos sure are. I see you have a Pinterest icon. Pinterest gets around on images. You would have to fall in the bracket of 'pin up girl' ha. Which does give bunches of exposure. Can lead to copy cats too.

I got an account a long time ago and never used it. I decided that I will try to utilize it to my advantage.
