OK now I just read your user registration, jody, and I noticed that you have disclosed nothing in it at all, hidden email address and even hidden gender. This doesn't exactly support your attempt to claim innocence about everything. If you are this nice honest but confused person as you claim to be, why the need for secrecy?

Thank you Jody for at least coming back and giving some explaination. That in itself shows a desire to make things right. That's all I asked for in my e-mail to you weeks ago.

Now here is a thought. Since much of this has gone on within Ebay or PM's and not all of us are aware of exactly what ripoffs jdennis perpetrated or what corrections have been made, maybe there should be a list of them all together in one place which would include information about the adequacy of any reparations that have been made. Then, jody, if your act is all cleaned up, the good news would be up here for all to see and some of the members could stop searching for you under rocks at the beach.

Puppie (and don't get me wrong- she was wrong) but I think Jody is trying to make things right- Maybe not 100 percent- but the effort is there- Yes there are somethings that probably still should be corrected- but I think it is a start- Nobody is cutting any slack here- just showing that we recognize that she is trying!

I hate to offer myself up as an example, but since I'm even newer than you, let me illustrate what I call reasonable behavior in a similar situation:
Koolaide had some neat looking Savannah River agate that he wanted to trade for. I had little of what he wanted, which was specimen rock. I offered to trade a few chunks of Chalcopyrite for a small amount of his agate. WHen I realized he was going to send me a whole box, I frantically started to collect up some other stuff that I thought he might like, such as a couple specimen pieces of calcite and flourite. I also threw in stuff I'd bought from stoner and gemmaster, knowing that those would have to be good items. I had a few rubies and sapphire stones that he might even be able to use to trade with someone, if nothing else.
When I got my box from Koolaid, I immediately knew that I hadn't really come close to matching what he sent me! I didn't know if he was just being generous or would feel cheated when my box arrived at his house. I PM'd him ASAP to thank him and to offer him some picture jasper I have on order from gemmaster.
I just want to ask one thing as politely as possible: It seems that when you got the box, you had enough knowledge of rocks to take the good stuff out. But not enough knowledge to put good stuff in???

i can't speak for everyone but for me it would hurt more to see you leave. i'd rather you work it through. i think you've made an effort and i respect that.

I just got "the box" which Randy so kindly removed all the "crap rock" from and filled up with his own amazing stuff. Randy got the short end of the stick as far as "the box" is concerned. He ended up with many pounds of unworkable rock, and gave up a lot of his own rock (which I'm sure he paid a lot of money for) to ship over to Canada (shipping which came out of his own pocket too!... and it wasn't cheap!)
When I got the box, I took a little of everything, but left a lot of the good stuff for everyone to pick from. Sort of like a party platter... It's being passed around for everyone to take a sample or 2 of everything. Or you can think of it as a pot luck supper (Everybody brings in their own food, and samples from everyone's dishes)
From everything I took out, I replaced with good sturdy rocks (of similar size or bigger, and the weight of the box is the same as when I first got it). They aren't as attractive as Randy's rocks (a lot of rocks aren't as nice as Zebra agates, or Tahoma jasper) but they are workable. The next person might not like my rocks, but at least they have the other "appetizers" choose from. and they won't feel "gipped"
It's really unfortunate, that some people are very greedy, and don't want to share all the good stuff that gets passed around. They Just take everything nice, and replace with "crap" hoping nobody would notice.
Chips and dust... well, all they're good for is making slurry. whats the point of passing around a box which all it contains is slurry material? Anyone can go outside and sweep the streets with a broom to get that stuff.

I think the contents of the box should be returned to whoever generously donated the new box of rocks to keep this one in circulation. (I don't remember who it was.)
The problem with being dishonest and ripping people off on a board like this, is that you only get to do it ONCE. Personally, I would rather do things the right way and avail myself of all the knowledge and good will that is here.

and as fot the box I am very new to this hobby..(just finished first ever tumble not to long ago) so I realy thought i was doing a good thing.. Come on she had been here long enough and read enough and looked at enough pictures in the photo section to know what quality rock is and even the size of rocks. I think she knew what she was doing the whole time, why else would you just take the rocks, put crap in then when called on the carpet for it, delete yourself? I would have had all the rock back in a box and on their way to Randy. Not grab and run. I take offense to being called dishonest. On my deal when I called her on the phone and told her I was disappointed, she said she would make it right, then in a PM she told me I was dishonest! Telling me I was lying. Well pictures don't lie. She wanted me to pay for the shipping back to her and then she said she would only refund the $12.50. I would have been out all the shipping both ways. Only after I wrote her and told her I was gonna put up the pictures and let others make their own judgment, then she told me I could keep the chips and dust and then refunded $13.00 to my pay-pal.

I'm not even one of the victims of your fraudulent behavior and that comment makes me so furious I'd love to slap your silly face -- along with your out of control child so vividly described by Xena. I guess the little darling smashed up all the big rocks and you then put the dust and chips in the box? Is that it? People like you always seem to end up with remarks like that. Now it's pity party time. Everybody's picking on poor jdennis about "that little bit of rocks." Give me a f'ing break!

All this has made me wonder, why did you really come back here Jody?
After reading what you posted, my first though was, if you are so new to this hobby, what are you doing selling on eBay. If you know nothing about what you're selling, you shouldn't be selling - No if's ands or buts!
While I am very pleased to know that you sent Drupe's cd back to him (thank you for doing that), your explaination of the box and it's contents doesn't fly. Goes back to that being so new thing ... how would you know what to keep.
Funny how you posted all those pics of what you were supposedly putting in the box ... have you guys forgotten that part? You removed those pictures faster than a New York minute. Was that because they weren't pics of the garbage in the box? You had been here long enough and followed the box long enough to know, you were NOT NEW to knowing about the box and it's contents.
*sigh* I guess I'm not a big enough person to accept your explainations of why this happened but in my opinion, you can't cover up lies with more lies.

Thank you Cher. I don't much like being the b**** of the board, but I absolutely refuse to be an enabler for somebody like this by participating in buying into or even creating more excuses for behavior that was clearly at best irresponsible and at worst outright fraudulent.

I don't think the issue was directly with your son. It was your allowing him to smash away at a rock that had just been given to him. You allowed him to disrespect and trash a gift he'd just received. He was also grabbing someone's property and running around the house with it.

If anyone else thinks I may be dishonest, let them speak now, or forever hold their peace. Furthermore, I ain't buyin the excuses either. She had plenty of time to make it right with Randy, and probably still has his address. I for one am glad that is your last post. I hope it shows you how you will be received after you take a dump on some of us. I really don't believe the tall tale that she doesn't know that much about rocks, just look at some of the rocks and wire wraps she has sold on ebay and look at the description she had wrote, sounds like a pro to me... Her feed back shows she just won a auction and didn't pay either. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4841&item=6596067815cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34052&item=5077521515

I dunno, I am new too and I think I would know enough not to stuff trash back in a box after taking out all the treasures. Or promise to cut someone's rocks and then throw them up on ebay without permission. Or make excuses for my kid taking someone else's stuff after they asked the kid to quit. Yeah, I think I would know enough to not do those things.
