Well I just got my first order from the Rock Shed. Fast shipping good prices, which most of you know already, so I needed more grit and an extra barrel, I'm going to devote one barrel to my rubies and emeralds, seeing as they need such a long time tumbling.
Thanks for suggesting them.

LOL! This board has a long history of going through emerald cycles periodically. Start searching and you will find endless threads about tumbling them and some beautiful photos. I love my results with emeralds.

Thanks Wolf

Yaaay!! ;D So you suuuure you have to wait till saturday or sunday? ... that's so far away and I dunno.. like almost 3 days away *sighs* lol.. sorry .. I'll try and be patient, in the meantime I'll ask a guru for you that I know here locally about that whole matrix thingy.(jamie-aka-desertdweller/guru). since these people are kinda slow to answering things for ya! and then I can be your hero too!! lol.. Ok? ... Ok.. Until.. (i'm gonna go get a clue) Roxy

See..how fast I am! ;D Lol.. ok wolf here's what I got.. first they don't think ya should tumble rubies and emeralds together just for the fact rubies are alot harder than emeralds.. blah blah blah you know the rest.. and as far as the matrix goes.. I always liked a little of that black on mine ;D lol but some use a dremel with dimond burrs to get the real stubborn stuff that doesn't come off within that first 10 day tumble. and they don't tumble theirs no more than 10 days because the grit is no longer effective.. .. and then the grit they used was Silicone Carbide 120/220 Grit for that first round for the removal of that matrix stuff... not sure if that's standard grit .. but anyways, on that second step they said they are real delicate so not sure if you have any this is where I went wrong I didn't have any "plastic tumbling pellets" to cushion the stones roll.. and they prefer the "Lusterite” pre-polish. and the "Lusterite" polish for the last polish too.. *whew* Now.... Hows that for finding a clue? lol... I don't know if that helps any.. but I think it'll sure help me.. So.. about that hero buisness..... ;D lol Roxy

My pleasure!! ;D Yaaaay I'm a hero!! lol ;D Ya know I guess there is always a first for everything.. .. lol.. But never fear.. I still need a hero so make sure ya show me how they turn out.. even between your stages.. I was so afraid of mine turning into dust like I have done to other stones in the past .. lol... Hell just stick em in here.. and the whole loading pictures is way easy.. go to that one site on members photographs and in there the first link will explain how to do it .. it's way easy.. even I got it and trust me... I don't get things very often.. .... lol.. And did you ever find a place online to buy emeralds raw? I still haven't found anywhere that has decent prices.... so that secret info would be the bestest!!! thing to happen today.. lol ;D Roxy

Don't be mean, some of us had to go to work today and now have to watch Grey's Anatomy. There really is a lot on this board. Try searching under my name or Cher's.
More later.

Puppies.... You know I felt bad cuz you thought I was being mean.. which I wasn't.. please don't read that post wrong.. it was dry humor.. but anyways.. I did try and try to search for those like ya suggested.. and still all I found was a headache.. 45 minutes of trying to figure this forums search thingy and to no avail.. so.. just so ya know I did try and I ain't no good at the whole pc thing as it is.. So.. if you don't mind.. it would make my world go round a little faster, easier, sweeter..... with gems on top.. ;D if ya don't wanna dig through your pics and show me what they look like tumbled and polished I'll understand but if ya do.. ;D You'd be the coolester one in my book .. lol Peace, (just added this) Ps.... Ok wolf I did check out your link and also found this link to these emeralds .. not sure if they are a better price than most uncut but I'm so tempted to buy from them to see what they got. dunno .. tell me whatchya think.. if they are legit or not.. or if it's worth it.. K? or.. anyone.. ;D thanks minerungems.com/Ruby&emerald.htm#Roxy

Yeah, I know what you mean about the search function on this thing. The other night I was messing around and discovered that if I searched for the last gazillion posts by a particular member, I could then search those results for keywords. Really, seriously, there's a ton of information on this board in old threads. It covers all the how tos and a lot of information about where people got the emeralds, as well as some nice shots. I think that out of everybody I was happiest with mine. I've bought from minerungems & others. Last time I ordered from somebody different that had great prices for bulk orders but at the moment I forget the name.

Hmmmm... well that's ok... I think I'm gonna go ahead and try that minerungems.. it looks like it might be some fun.. I always do like the unveiling of my own stones lol.. as far as me searching again.. Uh... I don't think I'm going to attempt it again.. almost went Bipolar on my machine.. lol.. not only was it too slow but it didn't take me anywere I was wanting to go.. so.. I think for the safety and well being of my keyboard I'll just wait for good ol Wolf to post his pics.. lol.. anyways.. I'll readya later Puppies ;D Peace Roxy
