Some of those look like granite, or marble. Have you ID'd them? Nice polish job on those! It looks like a wide assortment, what do you use to check hardness? I really like that small dark blue one with the specks, but the variety of color is what makes the collection attractive. Thanks for the info!

Great looking pics Mi Rocks! Well done, super polish. They remind me of some of rocks found in glacial till down here in Ohio. Very nice work, cheers, Don

Lookin good Ron, I like your model too. I thought of using my granddaughter to show a wire wrap, but she doesn't lite in one place for very long. Plus, I still haven't made one I'm happy with yet. I checked out your drill press, real nice set-up buddy. I have to order some of those peg cups and try them. It's a good look, talk to you later, Don

Very nice work Ron! Great job, beautiful rocks. I also can't wait to see the mahogany finished, I understand it can be tough to get a good shine on that particular obsidian. If anyone can do it, you can buddy. I have faith in ya! ;D Again, super work! ttyl, Don

I know what you mean, I have had the itch to get a diamond bit rock cutting saw every since I took a college metalsmithing class. Here is a picture of the things I made in Metalsmithing. The necklace was my very first project and where I became very familiar with the jewlers saw. Tami

Thanks for the compliament.
I was born with the gift of arts and crafts, I learned alot from both of my grandmothers, who have passed, and my mother and father. My father helps me with my wood projects, and my mother helps me with my creations, by helping with my sewing, criticing what I have done and has been a big supporter in everything I do.
I say I inheirated the best thing anyone can inheirate and that is the love of arts and crafts.
I rarely follow a pattern when I make my jewelry, and when I paint in ceramics there has only been one piece that I followed the paint directions on, and that was because they were holding a special class for that particular project.
I will be starting a new business venture, and that is to sell some of my handmade projects on e-bay.

Those are some neat lookin' rocks! That big one is really nice. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I am so envious of those of you that can just walk around and find cool rocks. All we have here is flint, flint and more flint! It's nice and tumbles up beautifullly, but I sure wish I had a larger variety of neat rocks around to collect.

Ron, I'm just stomping my feet and doing the "potty dance" because I recognise so many of the polished stones to be so much like what I have here. Lots of granite, marble and quartz. And I still haven't finished my first batch. The waiting is killing me! As far as hardness, how does granite relate to marble and quartz? I know there is a scale you refer to, Mohl's is it? Where can I get a copy? Thanks (for making me crazy) cookie
