Hey Ron (or anybody else) What's the hardness of petrified wood? It is not on the MOH hardness list. I assume it's about a 7, but we all know what happens when we assume! Another nice batch of rocks you got there. That 16 pounder reminds me of pics the medical folks show of diseased organs! Hmmmm, maybe that it "your brain on drugs" , or "your lungs after too many cigs", or "your liver after too many cocktails". I could go on, but you get the picture, er, rock! ;D llana

Ron, Your new saw AND your slabs look great! What is it about this "hobby" that is SOOOO addictive? Llana and I are talking about getting a bigger saw, and we've just barely figured out how to use our little one. Sure am glad she lives close enough that we can go halves on some of this equipment. More rocks, more tumblers, bigger saws......where does it all end? ;D Barbara

Cookie, THAT'S what scares me!!! LOL! Ron, about what sizes are your slabs? I especially like the top left one and the bottom right one. Do you know what those are? What size rock can you cut with your 10"saw? I know.......I'm really nosy! Barbara

that silver piece is what i'm missing - is that the squaring thing? i showed my husband the picture of your saw and he said that's the exact same saw he uses which is how i got the hand me down one. i went to look in the warehouse and it is but his is so covered with tile dust it no longer even looks red. maybe he'll pass that one down when he gets an itch to move to a bigger one ;D.

Isn't is amazing what you can find when you cut into a rock. The outside can be as ugly as can be and when you cut it open you always get a surprise. I guess the old saying "Don't judge a book by it cover" even applies to rocks. Tami

WOW, Ron! Those are gorgeous! I wish I had a field nearby that had rocks like that!
Where have you been? I was starting to think that you had been abducted by aliens who wanted your rocks. Just kidding about that of course, but are you doing OK? Been missing you.

Hi Ron , welcome back from wherever you have been. I love your fieldrocks , are just so prrrrrretty. Is that a minefield , goldfield or a goldmine for a rockfield ?
Whatever it is , it IS a good place for you and indirectly for us too. Thanks for the fotos. Jack
