Hey Ron, it's so good to see you back. I was just thinking about you yesterday. I have missed your rock pics and words of wisdom. Those are some beautiful rocks! Amazing that just an ordinary field rock holds such beauty inside. If Michigan wasn't so far away from Texas, I would be up there when the crops are in helping you rockhound that field for more treasures. llana

Kim, Ron, whoever!! I just bought a 10" tile saw. It's not a MK100, but a Made In China professional contractors saw and very much like the MK100 - except a much smaller price tag! Anyhoo, what kind of oil do ya'll use in yours? Or do you use just water. I know that somewhere here there was a discussion of lubricants, etc. for saws, but I can't find it now.

I use mineral oil and nothing else. I feel that water will allow rust to set in in unwanted places. Oil , great for all moving parts !

Wow, makes me feel better about the "boring" quartz we have in GA. That makes me want to wade in the river again!

I have never had that spider "thing" that so many people (most, probably) do. But a couple of days ago I went on a spider web mission at work. We tend to have a problem with some kind of tiny little spiders that can spin webs everywhere. I got the broom and went at it. Don't know if I knocked some into my clothing or what, but the next day I was just covered with little bites that itch like crazy. Had to take benadryl for the last 2 days and I've still scatched myself till I'm bruised. Maybe next time I'll call the exterminator first and sweep later. Anybody got any oatmeal? cookie

[glow=red,2,300]WOW[/glow] Lots of gorgeous rocks there, great pics too ('cept that spider, tell him he's lucky he lives at your house, at mine he'd be dead.)
Now I don't feel so bad about pickin up any old rock that catches my attention. Those things do have silver linings don't they.
Come Monday, I'll be tumbling away .....

Unreal, absolutely unreal. We didn't quite get to the frost level last night but they are threatening tonight again. There's a town about 60 miles ne of me, since June 1, they've had over 20 nights that went below freezing. Doubt they've had much luck with their gardens up there ... unless they are rock gardens.

I am glad we aren't the only one's having stange weather, yesterday it rained most of the day and last night my dad had to put the heater on because it got so cold, that is rare for August 19th. I just hope it is nice for my camping trip on Labor Day Weekend, last year I didn't get to go because it was raining and they wound up cancelling it. Tami

Cool pics Ron! It has been a crappy summer in these parts too. Way too cold, can't wait to see how the winter pans out if this trend holds up ;D. I like the spider, looks like a 'wolf spider' if I remember correctly. They are good sized and pretty like that one, usually loaf around gardens. Later, Don

well y'all must be the ones they were talking about on the weather channel. i heard the lady say something about hoping everyone sent coats with their children to school and i was thinking she'd lost her mind. it's actually pleasant here today but a coat is way out of the question. i usually only wear my coat at the christmas parade. and that's not always mandatory.

hey ron in my spider book it shows that to be a garden spider. it says it eats its web from the previous night and spins a new one each night. does yours do that?
