Well I for one am thankful for you passing the lessons on to us and I hope it challenges others to throw those big rock in The "Sapphire" will be interesting to see if you can accomplish the mission of getting a polish on it-I wouldn't see why you wouldn't though George is going in Saturday-I am too curious to see what happens, so my batch will be coming out and set aside. Either that or dammit, I am going to spend $ and just buy myself another present-hhhhmmmm, just got my work bonus.
Pick some of your favorite tumbles you have in process. There is a good chance that you can add them in with George. As long as George does not jam in the small barrel you are OK. Was curious if you were going to abort that batch lol. I won my own bet. Probably should have been a profiler. People with small ears and blue Volkswagens are often serial killers. lol. How do they do that. Why am I not surprised that you had a personal bet with how long it would take me? -I am actually proud of myself for having this much restraint. I almost did it the day I got him. I always wondered what type of person makes a good profiler-I would think that they have a pretty messed up mind themselves to get into the minds of others.

The profilers working on Bundy had him figured to his mother's name and brand of underwear. On Deadly Women, Candice DeLong is an amazing lady. She was an FBI profiler for many years. You could never pull wool over those peoples's eyes if involved w/them lol.

My daughter had a professor that is an active profiler Dr. Eric Hickey- He works active and cold cases- he said we would be amazed at the ones we don't know about and the ones that have gotten away.

Scary. Would have to assume many more get away with heinous crimes than get caught. Check out people you date....especially those on the internet. Did you say your daughter was going into law enforcement ?

"Check out people you date....especially those on the internet" Women are incredible investigators when it comes to men we may or are dating-I really don't think men understand how good we are. And as far as the dating goes-well after my date this past Sunday, I can honestly say I am for now, giving up on that adventure.
My daughter has thought of going into profiling, but she is going more towards counseling for drug and alcohol addictions ( alittle more complicated than that, but that's the simple explanation). She already has a Masters in History and will be finishing up her Master in Psychology. She currently works in a facility that rehabilitates homeless people that are also mentally ill.

What a great cause your daughter pursues. obviously a humanitarian minded soul. Especially after all the heavy education going towards goodwill. Mom's proud. Ladies are sly. They know what goes on. difficult to trick them till they fall for you. Then another story . Not only do they notice everything they can set you up creatively. I dated one gal that thought to leave my passenger seat way forward and made sure she rubbed the bottom of her shoes on the passenger side carpet and door w/mud. Put her cig buts on the passenger side door well including her brand of bottle caps. Left all kinds of memorabilia on that passenger side. Marking like a cat. Brilliantly contrived treachery from that gal. The other gal would notice. Me just don't think that way. Throwing the rag in eh ? No need to judge all by one. Demanding experience that dating. May have been more enjoyable back when. When there was less than 100 genders for instance. My college aged niece told me it was OK to wear glitter because it does not have a gender. Had to think about that one a bit.

Trust me its not that you are tricking us women once we fall for you, sometimes, we just turn a blind eye until we cant anymore.
Not throwing in the "rag" just yet and its been more than 1 guy in these past 4 years. Just need to step back and take a break to re-group. No more online dating though, that's been nothing but a failure for me. Gotten to a point where I have realized that's not the way to go for me.
This whole dating thing has been an interesting experience to say the least *Now you all got an insight into my love life or lack of I should say. (Embarrassing)

Put it out there MsAli. If I was on the market I would make a 'personals' section on here so I could find me a rock hunting buddy. Common bond. Tommy would have to run me off if he did not like it. As mentioned before, a dating section on RTH. Imagine the eaves droppers looking in. Payton Place on RTH lol. Maybe that is already going on somewhere on here. Tell me where !

OK, big rock/small container tumbling. Having great success with the big red rock in the little Mini Sonic hopper. It required less media AND smaller media. Done deal. Check it out. Only 20 hours in AO 220/Borax and straight out of nasty bulk SiC in rotary. Note 20 hour slurry. Probably shaved off of softer crystalline quartz pea gravel media. Never underestimate the value of softer media making a pasty slurry as the grind progresses. After 20 hours and ready for polish dry. Darn nice polish as is. THE BIG RED ROCK: December 3, 2017 MsAli. So it will be finished in 17 days = 2.5 weeks: Now in polish, after 15 minutes. Should be ready tomorrow early afternoon. Did I lie MsAli ? 2-3 weeks...(sapphire): Making a media adjustment. Going with 100% aquarium pea gravel quartz for slurry generation. Screening them. 3/8 - 1/2 - 5/8+ Three different sizes. Smaller media for bigger rocks that fit in Mini Sonic. Bigger media for smaller big rocks the fit in Mini Sonic. I used a lot of rhyolite media with glass and obsidian. It too makes a fine slurry for those two treacherous tumbles. Coming to the conclusion that a bit softer media is helping my tumbling since it generates slurry as the given abrasive breaks down. Harmonious input of slurry. Can't say how effective and fast AO 220 works in a gentle vibratory tumbler. It breaks down to nothing in a gentle environment. The black Mini Sonic hoppers easily shows left over residue of my white fused aluminum oxide 22 - 80 - 220 and 500 very well. Hand picked quartz pea gravel media for vibe operations.

Big Red is looking amazing, pretty nice polish already and nope you didn't lie ; ) Guessing if one interfaces here enough all that gooey stuff will come to the forefront. Was not sure if big red was going to stay down in the little hopper. Which would have thrown the schedule(pronounced like the British would)off. would have had to bolt the bigger hopper on and run it with it. It should be done, however there is a monsoon coming down presently hindering a trip over.

Dating is not as fun as I thought it would be. Somewhere along the way Ive developed dam morals We wouldn't want Big Red off schedule-Ive been waiting long enough to see him finished.
We are at 50 right now and getting some much needed rain.

Damn, big red got trapped in a box addressed to Fresno CA. How'd that happen ? Thanks for cheering me on Ali. After polish I could not find a single fracture. From rotary to polish in 38 hours. Big rock in small hopper makes for fast work. Such an arrangement greatly increases compressive grind forces on rock. The big rock barely moved while the media was flowing quickly around it. Note taken. Polish is up to snuff:
