Well this project is fixing to get going again. When I placed my order HP Fiddely *9cked around with my order and I talked to Sherman and he stepped up to the Plate and made everything good. I have since talked to Shawn at The Rock Shed and he has one and Loves it says he hasn't changed his oil since putting it on. Noise doesn't bother me I cant hear anyways of course two mastoidectomys 1 in each ear, took care of that anyways. I worked on my Aluminum Tank today that is 16" X 16" X 15" Deep but will only run about 8" of oil in it which will give me a Capacity of 8.86 Gal + plus a Gallon in the saw and lines probably close to 10 Gal total. Having that extra capacity of oil will keep the saw running cooler.

Didn't read the entire thread, but is all that (in the post above this one) for cleaning the oil in a 10" saw??
Did it cost more than the saw?
Seems like a lot of expense and work (nice welds!) just to clean half a gallon of oil or there abouts.
At least it's pretty!

Well Hello Capt'n Yes Sir it is, captbob Just Call me the "OAK" short for OAKEY OVERKILL! Actually I can Tee into the Lines and Hook up more saws but for now Yep Just the BD-10 will get its oil cleaned. Well I was busy over the weekend doing what a pipe fitter does best. All fittings are Stainless Steel, Brass or Aluminum hell why not waste bucket fulls of money on 1 Spindly 10" saw!

Alrighty then! That's impressive looking. I appreciate overkill and am known to have done some in my lifetime.
I would hate to see your paper towel bill.
Question - how does the oil get back in the saw?
Hope we get updates on how it works for ya. Would love to hear the cost when it is all said & done. Not just the unit but with all your modifications etc.
It IS pretty!

Well captbob I will have close to $1800.00 about the same cost as the Saw Itself. Below is a better Diagram on how the system works.

"the black line feeds the saw" - How? Did you have to drill a hole in the saw? Pictures please.
Does the pretty tank need to be cleaned out now and then? Seems sludge would build up in that and it would be a PITA to clean. What about cleaning the filter? How often will you need to do that?
Thanks for labeling what does what! Hope the solution isn't more work than the original problem.

It does seem that you are not a disciple of the "KISS" principal!! $1800 will buy me lot's of paper towels and paper bags!! On the other hand, keeping oneself busy and engaged mentally is always a good thing.

Old guy buys himself a new Caddy. His kid says, “Gee, Dad, that must’ve cost you a lot of money.” And the old man replies, “Nah, didn’t cost me a dime. It came out of your inheritance.”

captbob Read This Post First Then if you read this entire post and watch the Video on how the EverClean works you will be able to have most of your questions answered. Page 1 of this post shows my BD-10 saw opened up and two holes in it. The Bottom is the drain, The side one is the supply to the saw. The EverClean has a 1/2 Gal Coffee Can that Needs to be emptied about every 100 Cuts but having an extra can means you put an empty one in every so often. The turbulence in in the saw and the Aluminum tank will need to be stirred up every now and then but its a piece of cake! I have been operating it now for two days and I love it. It's so easy even a CAVE MAN can do it! Video Coming soon!

The video worked for me, pretty impressive. How many saws do you think this will handle? How often is your can full? I was skeptical at first but am liking it. Thanks for showing Mr. Duke

Can't vouch for the EverClean system itself but if it holds up like your work you'll be set for many years. Nice work Bob!

Thanks for showing Mr. Duke billy Thanks All! Billy I haven't had to empty the can yet. But when I do, I will be making a Video Of me changing out the can. I squeegee down the top depending on the rock I am cutting every 3-4 cuts. I have probably made 30 cuts so far I usually would have cleaned the saw by then and with the way the saw originally was with a crappy drain plug (more oil would drained all over the place instead of in a container) a fricken Rubber Plug??? Give me a Break!!! Barranca Diamond needs to go see THE WIZARD OF OZZ and get a Fricken Brain. It was a Catastrophe for maintenance to say the least, I just took it one step further. To have a shut off valve and drain on the saw itself is a Game Changer. Barranca Diamond at least needs to Beef up the bottom of the saw and have 1" NPT Threads on their saws for those that wants positive drain valves installed. As far as Quantity of Saws This unit will Handle I have heard (3) 24" Saws. This Little 10" saw is no challenge for the Ever Clean System. I am still learning but will know more as time goes on but so far it has surpassed my expectations.

** MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, AND I LOVE IT, IT HAS SURPASSED ALL MY EXPECTATIONS ** Here is The EverClean Maintenance Video. After working this system for a few weeks and over 100 Saw Cuts I have found that after several cuts depending what I am cutting, I need to Squeegee down the bed pushing the Cut Debris down the blade Slot so it gets picked up by the Oil Flow Turbulence that comes from the saw oil pump. And then the crud it is washed down the drain to the aluminum sump to get processed and cleaned by the EverClean. (This is shown in the Video). Pulling Maintenance on the EverClean is super easy, in changing Out the Tin Can for a clean one. Since I have 15 of these cans I have plenty to use and rotate. The Dirty cans I will let Drain and the Mud Dry out and I will use a Rubber Spatula and remove the mud and throw in the trash. I will wash the cans to be ready for the next use. Anyway here is the Video.

Hey Rock. Source for cheap oil my club found is buying a 55 gallon drum of mineral oil. We get the food grade stuff and we memb really buy it from the club barrel. Depending on market prices at times of purchase the cost per gallon is roughly $12-$15 per gallon. I also use the brown paper bag system to filter but am trying to devise a filter system dyi style that does not use a centrifuge and uses pumps to return clean oil up to the blade clean and cool for every rock.

Sediment tank with 3 or so baffles will take care of it. If the baffles are removable it will clean fairly easily.
