I have to say- These guys are awesome! I had a problem with my first 80 grit wheel, which was their close out wheel. They said they never had problems with it before and I believe them. I think I just was the unlucky one to get an off balanced wheel. HOWEVER, immediately upon emailing them, they sent out a new wheel- a more expensive wheel- at their expense. These guys rock and do as they say! I got the new wheel today in record time and it looks GREAT. I got it on with no troubles. I'm looking forward to chewing up some agate tomorrow! Yay! The seller, Baltic abrasives aka top abrasives on ebay, has joined RTH to follow up on the wheels. So, tag him with your questions or concerns. bat yep, great price, product and superior customer service is why i will always choose them.

Diamond Pacific still special orders Galaxy wheels in 2" for a little higher price. The soft wheels for DP and CabKing are 2" on both Titan and 8" CabKing. Titan wheels are 7 5/8" and I have heard 8" wheels won't fit under the hood. Not verified though. If you replace 1 1/5" wheels with 2" you of course will lose space between unless there is room on the end of shaft to move out. If wheel hubs are different thickness you may need different spacer dimensions as well. I use schedule 40 PVC but must be cut square.

Great info and great testimonials. I've been waiting (and waiting...and waiting...) for decent priced used cabbers to come up in my area and haven't seen anything except ones where people are pretty proud of their stuff. Based on the excellent info in the DIY pages I'm gonna build my own. Ordered a shaft this morning and bookmarked this seller.
Yay! Once again, this forum rocks. (I know, cheap puns are...cheap.)

Based on info and testimonials here, I went ahead and ordered 4 wheels from these guys. It's mentioned elsewhere in this this thread that the ebay seller (top-superabrasives) linked in the first post of this thread is actually the company Baltic Abrasives. It's worth noting however that buying from their website is less expensive than buying through ebay. The 4 8" wheels I bought through the website cost a total of $55 less than the same thing on ebay. This makes a certain amount of sense, since ebay gets a cut also. Here's a link to the website www.baltic-abrasives.com/en/Argh

I bought two regular 280 and 600 soft nova's from Darius a year ago. They are still performing, but all these wheels eventually wear out. I bought a set of the Narleys from him this spring. I have some old agate which I toned down with my old carborundum wheels for the break in period, as these new Narley's will cut into a stone until broken in. I am very pleased with Darius and B/A!! Always responds quickly. I go direct to him, and not E Bay. For reasons unmentioned.
As it said in a previous post, using some method of dopping your stone will save nails and bits of finger tip skin. I would give it a while before holding stones up to the wheels without a dop.

UPDATE- It looks like I posted in Sept 18 about ordering the new Top wheels. The "nova" that I got is dead already and I don't even cab in the winter, so I didn't get much use out of it. It got pretty bald, pretty fast. But, the worse thing was that I hated to use it. It was LOUD as hell! And, it didn't have much give at all- very stiff. It is very obviously made of different materials than the DP wheels. More like a hard shellac than "rubber". I got the regular wheels not the "narley" wheels. I won't order them again, in fact- I wouldn't use them if you gave them to me- just too damn loud.
However- I am more than happy with my 80 grit. I prefer it to DP. It has staying power and is quite aggressive. I will order hard wheels again.

I think this is a case of you get what you pay for as there novas i know had a thin coating therefor inexpensive and no break in.

Is this a common occurrence? Did you wind up replacing it and if so what kind did you choose? I've heard a lot of complaints about the Novas wearing out quickly so I'd really love some advice here. Also, regarding the gnarly wheels (they should totally rename them!), has anyone tried dressing them? I'm cutting opal and cannot afford for them to chew through like that. A certain amount of stock is ok but they require quite a bit more care than an agate, that's for sure! Also, how long did they take to break in? Thanks very much!

I hope nobody minds me bumping this one, but I'm also curious to hear if anybody else has any recent experience with the Baltic REZ wheels or any of the cabbing wheels for that matter. Thanks!
