Sands are they all done? I did a search on your name and it came up with nothing. Did I miss all the endings?

SELL ME

Post by JKowalski33 on Oct 10, 2004 23:53:45 GMT -5
yeah, here's what i'd suggest, but this is just my thoughts. -make it say FREE SHIPPING in the title -take out some of the words in the title like PENDANT/WIREWRAP -have the little pics next to the title -make them start at maybe like 9.99 -make the title bold, i've seen some that are bold and they really stick out compared to other, does it cost more to do this?
you don't have to do this, i know its easy for someone else to suggest this, when its not their money to earn and cabs to sell, but i think this might make people start bidding wars on some.

Or put something like $2.00 flat rate shipping (insurance NOT included). Not responsible for uninsured packages. $3.85 Priority Shipping (insurance NOT included). Not responsible for uninsured packages.
Then add the options for tracking/insurance after it. Not sure but tracking is like 50 cents, don't know insurance, maybe 1.30 or something. I don't think people mind paying some shipping but it's the ones that deliberately overcharge on the shipping that I won't buy from. Actually, the shipping rate is usually the very first thing I look at. Maybe it's wrong but when I look at something, I put 50% of my judgement on their shipping practices then look at their star rating. I really like those shipping calculators they have available on some of the stuff.
Cher
PS ... again, just suggestions but I think we're getting a lot of good suggestions and feedback for selling on ebay.

does your yard have nice green grass? i know that whenever i see some rock on ebay and the background is all green a sunny looking, it seems to make the rock look better too. i have also noticed that these auctions also always have people bidding on them, although it could just be because of what is being sold. eye appeal is buy appeal!!

You might take pics of both in your hand and and on a back ground and see what works best. On a back ground, the budstone looked a little flat. Holding it gave it more deminsion. In a humble trolls opinion. Billy goat, Billy goat, Billy goat Gruff...

Sands, for what it's worth, here's my suggestion.
I would drill and put a dofongy (forgot what ya' call it) on a couple of them. If they are drilled and can be hung on a chain, it might help sell them to folks that would like them for a pendant but aren't interested in learning to wirewrap or know how to drill them. If you have a chain, put one on a chain and sell it as a necklace.
I agree with JK, that they should be photographed on a different background. You can buy pieces of felt - all colors at the craft store, or you can use bright color poster board that you can get a WalMart, or dig thru your closet/drawers and find a colored T-shirt or even a pair of jeans would do.
Or do like KD does and use a rough rock as a background. It would be great if you have a piece of rough the cab was made from - they can see the before and after. Whether you use the same kind of rough or not, using a rough rock as a background is really eye catching. The rough will contrast the cab and make the cab really jump out at people.
Had something else, but had a brain fart and forgot!

John, Congratulations on selling 3 of your cabs on your first ever effort at selling on eBay. I think that's great!!!
Your new listings look great, too! Looks to me like you're learning QUICK! I think that JK's suggestions to offer free shipping and to show that in the title of the listings were excellent. Can't wait to see how this batch does.
I noticed that in one of your listings, I think the budstone, the $4.50 shipping was still shown even though the title showed free shipping. You might want to correct that if you can.
I think you're gonna do great with these!
Much luck! I'll be watching and holding my breath!
