Hello all,
I recently moved and need to do some down-sizing. I am considering selling some boxes of mixed rocks (either Heisenberg boxes -- it is uncertain what will be in there or Schroedinger boxes -- you won't know what is in he box until you open it). I have assorted slabs, fossils, banded obsidian, jaspers, pet wood, thundereggs, etc. I am considering the following pricing (shipping included): Small flat rate box (8 11/16" x 5 7/16" x 1 3/4") for $20 -- shipping accounts for $6.45 Medium flat rate box (11 1/4" x 8 3/4" x 6" or 14" x 12" x 3 1/2") for $35 -- shipping accounts for $12.40 Large flat rate box (12 1/4" x 12 1/4" x 6") $50 -- shipping accounts for $17.05)
Although these are unknown, I can promise a piece or two of Morgan Hill PJ. Given an earlier post that people are selling that stuff for >$100 for one small piece, I think these are worthwhile.
Would anyone be interested in such a deal? I think mystery boxes are fun, and if this thing takes off, it is easier for me than photographing, posting, and taking bids on specific mixes.
Stephan

Cool. I'll get logistics ironed out in the next day or two. In the meantime, if you folks could let me know what size box you are interested in. I assume PayPal works for all? I'm not ready for BitCoin. :-)

I'm in for large, but I'd prefer as many slabs as possible as I don't have a big saw. I don't tumble, either. Paypal

1 SFRB. Preferably fossils, slabs, pet wood. I do not have a saw and rely on others or use Dremel to cut preforms. I do some tumbling, but have plenty of stock for that. Always looking for pet wood and fossils. PayPal.

OK. I've got the first three boxes filled (a bit more work than I originally thought). :-)
I'll get at least one more done tomorrow.
@ Sophia: Large isn't greedy, if that's what you want, I'll just have to get the box. It'll help me thin, and I need the room. It's difficult to let go of some of this stuff, but it helps to know that it's going to good homes.

Hi all,
I'm closing the first round after Bill to catch my breath. This seems to be a good way to thin the hoard, but with the work and costs for me, I'll prob have raise prices a tiny bit for the next round (probably by $5 for a small to $10 for a large, nothing major). It's been a fun way to do something that would otherwise be no fun at all. Hope everyone enjoys their new rocks.

I'll be in for the next round, staying tuned. Large box would be fine, I'm a tumbler, some saw access.
