04 October: Happy National Taco Day!
You'd'a thought they could have that on a TUESDAY every year, instead of just picking a date!?

Today is also World Animal Day Just for your reference, it is celebrated on October 4 every year, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. I saw there was at least one "Blessing of the Animals" in town today. Because of Covid, they are doing it a little bit differently. They used the term "remotely" - Just wondering if people could leave their animals at home, and the blessing could be given "over the airwaves?" You know, like prayers?
I thought those could go everywhere...
World Animal Day is a day in which people all over the world celebrate animals and work towards the well-being and rights of animals. It is celebrated on October 4th of each year, which is fitting since that is also the feast day of Francis of Assisi – the patron saint of birds and animals. The mission of World Animal Day is to improve welfare standards for animals around the world and work to make the world a better place for all animals.

Ha ha. No idea. I don't create them. I just find them, post them, and try to observe as many as I can.

If the power of the blessing truly comes from an omnipotent being, there is no reason it should not work remotely, especially if this being is also compassionate. Here is a family that needed a blessing this year. In 2020, we rescued this wonderful kitty family (Abbott, Costello, Clementine, Winston and Mama cat) from a storm drain on 31 July. They came with pets of their own: roundworms, tapeworms, fleas and ear mites, and were severely malnourished. they are now doing well, and are the most bonded cat family I've ever met. On Thursday, they had their "procedures," so that they don't contribute to the over-population of cats. World Animal Day by Stephan T., on Flickr

Yeah boy, talk about lazy restful critters. Whenever I see sea lions on docks, and you know they make themselves right at home on people's boats, I say to myself, aren't you glad you don't have a boat down here? Since I am not well-to-do, not a problem I ever anticipate having, lol.

Them darn Commiefornian Sea Lions invading Oregon and stealing our fish. They needed a grant to rebuild the docks so the tourists could gawk at them. I like watching the tide shift going up and down. www.sealioncaves.com/
This is what the sea lions leave when you spend bucks to go out on a half day boat....
Sometimes they leave even less

Take your kid to work, eh? How’s that work nowadays when everyone’s stuck at home? Whadya, park ‘em in the family room for a Zoom call to the office?
