Today, October 21, 2020, is International Day of the Nacho.
International Day of the Nacho
It’s one of America’s favorite Tex-Mex treats and you get permission to eat nachos for a full 24 hours! This day should be full of nachos in all their delicious forms, covered with just cheese or with all kinds of delicious additions, like black beans, olives, guacamole, chili — you name it!

Ways to celebrate: Post a picture of your pet online. Go out and adopt a pet (Don't do this on a whim, you should have been preparing). Donate time, money or supplies to animal shelters. And don't forget to spoil your pet, be it a nice walk, new bed or toy, special treats, or extra loving! |

Why April 20? There are a few possible explanations for why marijuana enthusiasts’ day of celebration landed on this day, but the real origin remains a bit of a mystery. Steven Hager, a former editor of the marijuana-focused news outlet High Times, told the New York Times that the holiday came out of a ritual started by a group of high school students in the 1970s. As Hager explained, a group of Californian teenagers ritualistically smoked marijuana every day at 4:20 pm. The ritual spread, and soon 420 became code for smoking marijuana. Eventually 420 was converted into 4/20 for calendar purposes, and the day of celebration was born. I love Dr Hook. My sister uses Pandora, she has a Dr Hook channel. When I used to go over once a week and we'd play... Hmm, brain fart. When I remember the name I'll add it.
Anyway, we'd listen to tunes on Pandora while playing.
Rummikub, thats it! Fun game.

Hi, Al. Yes, it is a lot of fun. We used to play for three or four hours at a time. Then Covid hit, and I stopped going over. We'll start up again soon.
My sister learned about it from her neighbors (half a dozen couples). I think at least some of them are originally from back east, so maybe it is more popular back there? They have rotating game days with neighbs. Different homes, different games. She bought a game for herself, I've picked up one, and there's one up at my Dad's as well.
We rarely play it at home, I actually keep it in the trailer for when we go to the desert.

He is a hired gun as an actuarial/investor, suffice it to say he is pretty good with numbers. I was pretty proud that after we played a few games and I started picking it up that we were pretty even on the wins and losses. As the visit went on I wanted to play more and more, but him not so much . I will admit though that the last time I saw him he took me 4 out of 6, I think he was practicing  . |

Yesterday, we celebrated 'Clean Your Room Day.' (Yeah, oops, I missed it. Remember it next year.) "It's very interesting and suspiciously convenient that 'Clean Your Room Day' is the day after Mother's Day. The unofficial holiday has been gaining traction on the internet, and we can tentatively report that no, the moms of the world did not invent the celebration to manipulate their spawn into doing their chores."   Oh yes, easily distracted, that old ADHD thing going on, lol.  |
