Hello again, yes, I was stationed in Asia over twenty-five years and spent most of my time in China but moved around the Pacific Rim countries when the need arose. The birds came from Singapore, the Mice and Mr. Penguin, being very special, came from France, all the rest of the Zoo came from the lapidary and antique shops in Shanghai and the outlying Provinces in China. The residents of The Big Cats section of the Zoo did not want to wait a week or so and demanded to be first of the mammals to be presented so here they are. Who's gonna argues with Tigers? Tiger eye seemed to be the appropriate choice of stone for a Tiger display.       
Mr. Bunny is two inches high. It is now feeding time at the Zoo, so it 's closed for the balance of the day Hoped you enjoyed the Big Cat Section of the Zoo. Cheers, johnw |

He is fabulous but please don't let him eat Mr. Bunny! alikat218, never happen. They only eat corn flakes after seeing a Tony the Tiger commercial.   BTW, is there a limit on images I can post? Reason why I ask is my Zoo friends who have not yet had a shot at posing consist of horses, that you will swear you can talk to, bunnies, pigs, rhinoceroses, hippopotami, a fine looking doggie who guards the Zoo when I am out, crabs, err sorry, crustaceans, turtles, tortoises, bears, hens, frogs, elephants, cows, bulls , rams, temple dogs, and a flamingo. There are also some other guys that think of themselves as not being residents of the Mammal Section of the Zoo because they are Fantasy animals and are shy. I am guessing there are in excess of 30 images that the Zoo resident will insist on showing. Is this too many? I am game if the folks here don't get tired of looking. My plan is to spread them out over several weeks. Cheers, johnw |

I want to see them all, now , especially the horses. Hi fernwood, Thank you for saying that, I really felt good with the greeting I got from Garage Rocker and now do consider this my home. I have come to find out there are many fine people in this Forum and we all share a common passion, being rocks and how we process them. Its really a great place. So about the Zoo, yes, I do have a display at home. The Zoo residents share spaces on different shelves depending on their size and classification. That's how the honkers and the other "ducks" got left out of the first photo op. The "birds" were in a different cabinets than the big honkers and Mr. Penguin was stationed next to the Rodent Section and Aquarium. All the horses and other larger mammals are on the lower shelves due to their weight. Some of these guys are heavy, like the Hippos, Rhinos, Horses and of course, the Big Cow. OK, so now that I have a green light from Tommy, I can start the photo sessions .  It's gonna be tuff though, cuz all the residents at the Zoo are now pushing to be first in line.  Cheers, johnw |

A friend has a similar zoo——all rhinos—-all sizes. Literally several thousand. I don’t recommend it!!
I have a zoo, too—-about 25 critters —— most about the size of a chicken egg.
Thoroughly enjoy the denizens of your zoo. Look forward to those in line waiting their turn in the spotlight.

Well, somebody heard you say that and pushed their way to the head of the line and there was such a ruckus from the residents of the Zoo and some started pushing and shoving each other but eventually they all became quiet and out of respect for the guy in front of the line, they agreed for me just to give you a head shot to kinda hold "things" over. The respect is well placed since this guy is special, he weights in at three pounds and measures 6.5 inches long x 3 inches wide x 4 inches high. He is special because he hails from the Qing Dynasty, is made out of Imperial White Jade and in his current form, is over two hundred years old. I call him my White Stallion. Here is the head shot. That is a beautiful stallion.
I adopted an Appaloosa stallion with snowflake markings. Some day I want to commission someone to do a carving of him from Dalmation or any other stone that is white with black spots.

These items are priceless. I remotely visited a Chinese gem show last year and discovered that carved animal figurines are the latest up and coming collectibles. Hang on to your zoo.
