I placed an order on the 19th. It shipped today- the 29th. 10 days to ship. I had to call twice. No emails. Sold something they did not have in stock. They didn't tell me or ask if I wanted to wait or cancel it. Bad business. I can't even comment on the few items I bought, because I haven't gotten them. I would have canceled the order, but one of the things I can't get anywhere else. I don't like calling them. Very unprofessional. Sad thing is, I may have to use them again. But I will avoid it like the plague.

I'm a repeat buyer and I know they take a long time to ship. They also charge for using a credit card. The good news is that they are on the same coast as me and delivery is fast once they get it out the door A lot of non lapidary stuff I buy is shipped from the east coast UPS surepost and takes 8 days to arrive. There never is a good excuse for bad service.

rockjunquie what do that have that you can't find anywhere else? Maybe someone knows where to get it that isn't Johnson Bros.
I have never ordered anything from them, but since the originals owners sold the business, I have heard a lot of negative remarks about their service.

It was a one time purchase- the splash guard for their saw. I picked one up and it had the blade, but no splash guard. Go figure. Yes, the new owners are not up to snuff in the customer service dept. I was considering having an extra old set of wheels resurfaced. But, I just don't know.

You def should have known better as they’ve almost have had nothing but negative reviews ever since I even came onto the Lapidary scene back in ‘13/‘14. I’ve ordered from them and they only took a couple days to ship out and then shipped priority. It was only one order but I was pleasantly surprised. Now they do have an eBay (I think), and have to uphold to the shipping guidelines and time frames on there or they get dinged.

I have used them twice before with less than great results. I just figured it can't hurt to throw this up there again. I'm really glad you had a good experience. Wish I did. I needed that part like days and days ago.

I'll throw this into the mix. JB seems to always have a few days' delay between receiving the order and shipping. I had several wheels resurfaced and they shipped to my West Coast location in about a week. On previous orders the delay was about the same.
They do appear to keep credit card info on file. While that speeds the order some buyers might be concerned about it. I'm pretty laid-back about delivery times and try to order from all suppliers well in advance of my needs. So far I have no complaints about JB. The resurfaced wheels have a harder surface than DP Novas with very little "give" if that's a concern. I've used the resurfaced wheels through a LOT of cabs and they're barely broken in. But I don't jam stones into them with a lot of pressure as some cutters do.
I'll use them again for resurfacing but I'll also use some DP Novas for certain sizes of grit. That's just my own cutting style.

I don't mind an average wait of up to 4 days to ship, but 10 days is not acceptable with no email to keep me up to date- which, I might add- the Rockshed did do. They lost power for 2 days and had a late shipment come in. They let me know that BEFORE I had to call them. I'm glad to hear that about the wheels. I was going to have my wheels redone, but I had a "stiff" wheel from the Lithuania guys and was not happy with the way it felt. It felt hard and brittle and it made an awful noise.

I agree a 10-day delay in shipping is excessive. As for the refurbed wheels, they're not noisy and don't require a major breaking-in period (in my experience). I've not tried the Lithuanian wheels. Their jagged surfaces made my fingers bleed just by looking at the images.

Finally got my order! Priority mail. But, you know what? I was charged over 12.00 for something that would easily fit in a sfrb. They did put it in an box in an envelope, but the envelope wasn't that much, either. I despise overpaying on shipping esp since they charge extra for PP and credit cards as it is. Oh well, I got what I wanted.

I had an extremely negative in person experience with them in Qsite, went into their tent, the guy glanced up from his device, then right back to it. When I tried to get his attention to ask a question he seemed too bothered to want any of my money, so I left. I also don't do any business with them, other than buying their lube-cool additive at the local rock shop.

I place an order on Monday and it was delivered by UPS today. It helps that they are in the same state.

Truth be told, I'll use them again when I need to buy a 25kg bag of 46/70 grit. I previously bought from them in Q. They're close enough where my time spent driving to them will offset having to deal with Kingsley North for the same product. I'm hopeful that the face to face transaction will be a non-issue.

I live about 10 miles away from them, when I need anything it is easy for me to go and pick it up. I always get great service from them.

I placed a grit order with them on 10/11/19 and the Post Office tried to deliver it yesterday 10/15/19, but I wasn't home so I had to sign a form so they would leave the package. It should get re-delivered today. No idea if the grit's any good, or if the order's complete yet, but I don't have any complaints about shipping delays. I'm on the East coast. Sorry you had a bad experience!

So, they sent it signature required, and I couldn't get around to picking it up until yesterday, but my grit has now arrived. Hopefully I can open it up and start using it this weekend, and get my big tumblers rolling.
