Baby gate with built in, crawl through, escape door. It is actually supposed to be a cat door, but AJ thinks it is for him to use.

We have that same gate..... the same pet door caused trouble for children.... now has a nice row of zip-ties removing functionality of said gate.... Good old zip ties, if the women don’t find me handsome at least they find me handy, LOL!

My daughter's sis in law, told her to use duct tape, lol. AJ is very strong. I think he will just pull off the tape. I like the zip tie idea. They could be attached high enough, or on one edge to allow cats, but not AJ to get through.

Yep, and I got my big clumsy work van stuck at the mini storage. Had to get parts for the job, when I saw it wasn’t plowed, I should have walked from the road. Well, the low tread 2 wheel drive van just made ice under the tires. Luckily I carry CO2 on the van, so I let the air out of the drive tires until they were squatting pretty good, mushed my way up to the road, then aired them up again. 30 minutes of my life lost to the snow.

No, seems like it though, huh? I use a 15+ year old Sony PC100. It takes both still (saved on a memory stick) and digital video (uses Mini DVs). It has a hot shoe on top the camera, and I have a Sony flash that fits it. Only problem is, there is no light to set either the aperature, or the focus. So I'll use a flashlight to set the distance, and guess at aperature opening. Take a few shots, make adjustments, and start snapping away. With instant gratification, you see the photos immediately. Delete the test shots. She is maybe six feet away. We were out at the Cargo Muchacho Mtns, doing some prospecting. This friendly little kit fox came into our camp about every night. It was just me and Bob, and no dogs. After the first time she visited us and got treats (Ritz crackers), then she left a gift of her own on our outdoor rug, lol. I guess she was claiming us as her own. Bob likes to feed the wildlife, I have a photo of him hand feeding a kangaroo rat at our camp in Quartzsite from a few years back. I have video of it climbing all over him, getting treats (Nacho Doritos).

Fernwood, see that comment about the Nacho Doritos. Try some of them for bait for those varmints. RickB

The generic rats also love citrus off our trees. They climb the trees, chew a hole through the peel, and hollow the fruit out.
While picking avocados yesterday, I saw one still in the tree that was gnawed on. I used the picker basket and pulled it down. My dad told me to try some of the "Rodent Sheriff" he saw on TV. It has a strong peppermint smell that they supposedly dislike. The jury is still out on if it has any effect.
