I wont say what cab I did but I am pleased with it and I really hope Tommy likes it. "Tommy likes it" would be a gross understatement! I freaking love it Everyone - this young lady took a beautiful (and rare) piece of Morgan Hill poppy jasper and absolutely knocked it out of the park. The pattern capture is fantastic (mesmerizing) and the shine is perfection - better than I have been able to achieve on many piece of MH I've done. The shine and complete lack of scratches tells me that she worked her butt off on it, no question about it. Thank you Ali, you have raised the bar for all of us with this piece - for me especially. UMM.. just started catching up with this thread. Ali - this is beautiful

No, I haven't heard anything. Things are a bit crazy these days, so I hope he's doing okay! The last day he's logged on here is when he posted in this thread.

Hi Everybody,
I'm so sorry for the delay!! I know I promised an update a week or more ago, but I've been struggling to keep up with my day job, and paradoxically my rock business is the busiest it's been in seemingly forever. I WILL have something to show tomorrow and get the box on its way to the next person by Saturday. Once again, I'm sorry I've taken so long!

Alrighty! Wow, what a box! So many nice slabbetts in it, I had trouble choosing which I wanted. I was able to choose a few, and hopefully my replacements will do them justice. Also... amazing cab that I got! Thank you miket , it's a beauty! Here's the cab that I received. I'm already daydreaming about what to make with it... once I get a chance to make a setting for it, I'll post it here. There were a lot of really nice slabbetts to choose from. I ended up taking the following: Burro Creek Ocean Jasper Pink Angel Wing Rutilated Quartz Unknown Opal in Agate I'm leaving the one that I cabbed as a surprise for @hookedonrocks . I picked some of my best material as replacements... Pietersite and a new variety of shattuckite from Namibia that I imported 2 days before the covid-19 lockdown. It's a shattuckite that hasn't been offered in the U.S. before, so hopefully people really like it! Mtorolite from Zimbabwe, stabilized kingman turquoise from Colbaugh processing, a chatoyant slab of malachite (chatoyancy doesn't show in the picture, but it's got an amazing optical effect, IMO), and a purple chalcedony from Indonesia. A couple slabs of Russian Amazonite. Slabbed so that they get the optimum chatoyant/optical effect. ( Indonesian opalized wood A backlit picture of the purple chalcedony A couple more slabs of the Namibian Shattuckite If I can fit them in, I might try to get a couple other unique slabbetts in the box. Thanks for your patience, everybody!

The unknown is one that I thought was possibly a laker. That was inside. It's pretty cool

Wow! Great cab miket and look at all those new materials going in the box. I'm next after @hookedonrocks and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to travel again before it gets to me. Please check to make sure I'll be in town and have time to make a cab before you send the box. knave do you have any interest in Fordite? You're next on the list after me and I'm starting to consider what to add to the box.

Glad you liked the cab, rxscram! I don't think I've ever made a "perfect" cab and I had a few issues with it (like disappearing colors and lines) but I think it turned out ok. Anyone who knows me here probably could have guessed that's what I would have picked to work with- I can't resist fortification and banding. Nice additions, can't wait to see what else comes out of this. Thanks for the fun, deedolce and everyone participating!
