It was too windy to work on the house today...but not too windy to head out to the Buttes, so siding will wait until tomorrow! I really thought this first one was a Fairburn agate when I initially saw it on the hillside. Mostly prairie agates collected today...still getting skunked on Fairburns! Arghhhh.... That one large prairie agate has to weigh close to ten pounds...it really made the backpack heavy, but it's a really nice example of a large prairie agate and I couldn't pass it up! LOL

You have caught the bug and your efforts are yielding some great results. Continue on.

Very nice! I like both prairie and bubblegum agates, even if they are sneaky and try to trick you into thinking they're fairburns. And I'm starting to get a little jealous at the amount of hounding you're able to do. That's my favorite part! 😃

Those are beautiful agates you found. The boulder is very cool! I love the wavy and fancy patterns that prairie agates have.

You have caught the bug and your efforts are yielding some great results. Continue on. I definitely have the bug...the moment I can put work off for a day...or make excuses to do so, I'm headed out with rocks in my head! Very nice! I like both prairie and bubblegum agates, even if they are sneaky and try to trick you into thinking they're fairburns. And I'm starting to get a little jealous at the amount of hounding you're able to do. That's my favorite part! 😃 I really have to be careful about the prairie agates...there's so many of them out there, I have to actually LEAVE some if you can believe that! LOL - The pack starts getting real heavy! Those are beautiful agates you found. The boulder is very cool! I love the wavy and fancy patterns that prairie agates have. There are a ton of large prairie agates out there. As time goes on and the collecting continues, I'm going to strewn them about the river rock I have surrounding the decks...but they've got to be the "really special" looking agates to make the weight worth the carry! I should have taken a picture of the underside of that one - it's better than the top. LOL Thanks Fossilman! I'm slowly getting amassing my collection of "precious" objects!

I believe it about the prairie agates, there's tons here too. Not a lot of bubblegums but you can find them.

I'm saying the first one is a fairburn, I've heard the second one called a lace or water agate, and I think the last two are bubblegums. But I'm not always right. 😀 I do like them all, thanks for the pics!

Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures. Great spot for hunting up stones if your main complaint is your backback gets heavy. ;-)

Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures. Great spot for hunting up stones if your main complaint is your backback gets heavy. ;-) Thanks Greig! It truly wasn't meant as a complaint...just an observation. I first started using my old rucksack, but quickly realized it can hold WAY more than I would want to carry at one time. LOL Living as close as I do to the Buttes, and being able to get out there as often as I have been, I really have NOTHING about which to complain.
