I see the general consensus seems to be edging toward one vote, but I like the idea of picking three. I'm not sure how much it would really effect the outcome, but it would be fun to find out!
Another great showing for participation for this month's contest...and so many great cabs in here! A lot of really great examples for which to strive!

Shoutout to Tommy again for the meticulous work of editing the contest with full-res links for SIXTEEN pieces, and putting all the links on the same host etc, etc. Not to mention all the other work that goes into it. Thanks Tommy!

I like the 3 votes per person, if there are a lot of entries.

Tommy, maybe three votes for people that enter cabs is another twist. I would like to vote for what I made but also would vote for two others since the quality is so high. The votes must be split.

I think 1 per person is the fairest but that said I'm gonna throw this out there. Tommy and I have already talked about it and I'm curious on others thoughts about it
Especially from those that do participate
I would like to see it completely anonymous. I think we should DM either to Tommy or someone else willing to be in charge of this contest our cab photos rather than post them to the initial thread.
This may also increase participation for we may have some that are shy

Regarding the multiple votes - thank you for all the feedback. The November contest is already posted but I still think it's an idea worth considering going forward especially if when entry numbers remain high like this. I'm fully expecting TWENTY this month!

I TOTALLY AGREE that it would be a great idea to go anonymous. Oh, and on a side note, what a magnificent array of jasper cabs! Congratulations to all who entered for October.

I never would vote for my own, so everyone else's entries is guaranteed consideration when I vote.
I would not like a 3 vote deal, BUT I am open to such an idea if the majority would like it to be so.
If I know who made it (and if it is their very first cab or not ) I may vote for one over another instead of the one that was the most artistic and skilled entry.
Edit: Just noticed this was my 1k post not a bad one to hit that mark

I agree Eric, I don't vote for my own, I vote for what I think is the best. This is a fun thing, I hope, I don't care if I win or not, I am not in the least competitive.

Wow voting is pretty intense with so many to choose from. Between the design choices and color patterns makes picking just one kinda tough.
I do like the idea of just one winner however with the talent that’s been displayed once again it is pretty hard to pick just one entry.
I have narrowed my choices down from 7 to 4 but it’s still pretty tough to say ok that one. I am glad there’s a couple more days left to look things over I need the time
What can I say it’s definitely another great showing of awesomeness Excellent Job Everyone

I echo what others are stating...I didn't vote for my own. Although I would have liked for it to be the best cab out there this month, it is not! LOL There really are some very talented people on here and some amazing materials represented! Way to go you guys/gals!

MsAli and Tommy I really like the idea of an anonymous contest. I think it would make folks look more carefully at the stones and judge them by the criteria in the rules.
Great idea you two!

It's 100% Ali's idea - she has come to me several times. I have been reluctant to go down that road because of the extra time management required - AND - I'm not the most organized person in the world.

I'll add my two cents with regards to the anonymity. I think the general concept (and consensus) for these contests is to promote "fun" participation for those who are both experienced and inexperienced. For experienced cabbers, there may be a month in which a material is chosen with which they're not that familiar. It gives them a chance to possibly push them out of their comfort zones. For those of us who are inexperienced, it gives a push in the right direction for improvement, no matter what material is chosen. I think everyone would LIKE to win in any contest they enter, but the vast majority of us know that isn't going to happen. Are some votes submitted strictly due to "whose" cab it is? Possibly/Probably. But look at the majority of comments from participants...they don't even vote for their own. (Sidenote - if I really THOUGHT my cab was the best, I'd vote for it...but chances are it won't be...so I don't.) I entered this contest (and will enter future cab contests) not because I thought I would win...but because it gave me incentive to try something new. It just gives us all another opportunity for the proverbial pat on the back for something done right, and gives a chance for positive critiques when something isn't done quite right. In my opinion, I think Tommy puts enough time into this "fun" contest as it is and I don't think it needs to get more complicated or time consuming for him than it already is...thankfully, when it comes to the voting he doesn't have to deal with "hanging chads," mail in ballots/entries, or accusations of voting fraud...as we all can see how complicated that gets! LOL Life is short enough as it is...just have fun with it...

I agree that it should be fun and my line of thought was it may increase participation and it also may be funner (yep its a word) to not know who's is who's. Personally the reason why I participate is because it pushes my skills. I havent been cabbing very long and as I go, IMO I get better and better. I look forward to these monthly challenges I've never voted for my own nor would I , and hell yes I want to win, but rarely do. To me its just awesome to see what everyone else is gonna come up with and the work they can produce. As far as more work if we make it anonymous, im not sure it would cause any...we already upload to the thread, so we would just change it to a DM instead I'm even willing to take on the contest if needed. Maybe Tommy a poll can be created for both questions Multiple votes and anonymous starting December?
