Howdy all! This is my first time contributing to this awesome thread, it's Thursday! I picked up these already sliced thundereggs and a bunch of medium and small ones last weekend with a bunch of other rough, at only 25 cents/lb they were coming home with me lol. I had no clue where they were from until I looked back on this stellar thread and saw Stephan post one that looked somewhat similar as a "Black Rock Desert thunderegg". That started the search and I think that is what these are? (Please correct me if that's incorrect) I didn't see many eggs from there on this thread so thought I'd add some. I originally bought these to cut up for cab material but now I'm having a change of heart and may keep a couple of the nicer ones as specimens. Luckily most are pretty tubby and could easily get a couple slabs off them and still have a nice specimen left. Egg 1: natural light With flash Close up: Egg 2: Egg 3: Egg 4: I really like the intricate fine bands. Egg 5: this one looked like a complex of 3 eggs but only one fully formed? Close up: Egg 6: different brownish banding Egg 7:

I want to give a shout out to catmandewe I bought some really cool geodes and thundereggs off of him. Here are some picks of the thundereggs. The large ones I haven't had time to polish yet, but they look cool anyway. All the stuff he sent was amazing! Thundereggs

I would also like to give a shout out to Jason at Hinkle's rock shop, rockhound97058 I ordered a large flat rate box of thundereggs from him, and every one I have cut open is awesome. He was even nice enough to answer my emails and give me advice on orientation for cutting the eggs! You can check out pictures of 2 I have polished below. Fallen Tree Thundereggs

I dug this Canyon Rim Egg shortly after the deposit was discovered. Just now getting around to finish it. got it lapped and ready to sand and polish. I stopped at the mine last month and picked up a few eggs that were laying around. Did not feel like digging. Got aa couple of them in process, cut.

Was also cutting some Indiana thundereggs. Normally they are tan colored on the outside and basically the same color scheme on the inside like this: Indiana_IMG_0378 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr I was happy to find a nodule that was reddish on the outside and was pleased to see the red extended into the interior: Indiana_IMG_9828 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr Then I found this nodule in the same bucket. Very dark exterior. My imagination ran wild wondering what the inside would look like! Turned out to be an thunderegg imposter! Howlite by Shiny Objects, on Flickr Oh well! If I want to get into the Ty-D-Bol turquoise cab business, I'm set for life!
