THE BOOK on John Day Fm. etc. Thundereggs! "Geological Survey Bulletin 1161-D 1964" I have searched for this for YEARS and could not find it. I didn't know he made it into a book! This morning I found THIS on Amazon! www.amazon.com/gp/product/1289107831/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Temporarily out of stock but I ordered it! Happy as a June bug in a corn field!
I strongly disagree with his theory on T.E. Formation -

Succor Creek thunderegg Fallen Tree thunderegg Richardson's Ranch Thunderegg With the Succor Creek egg Cold Mountain eggs That first Succor Creek really looks awesome!! Those two Cold Mountain T-eggs are typical of the two types of CMTE's that I've run across. The first of them (the green one) is the kind that reminds me of Spiderweb Jasper aka Pegratite!

These will all potentially be for sale at the rockhound powwow the mid part of this month. I got a guy coming in from out of town that wants to buy them from me. Pretty sure his plan is to sell them at the show. Beds been dug out and I’m the one who’s left with what’s in existence.

I'm not into rocks for the monetary gain, we can come to an agreement on a fair price, or I wont sell. The rocks bring me more joy than the money ever will.

realrockhound Is that bed still open and producing? Not finding much of anything on it online. Wish I could make it to the shows. Got too much going on right now. Maybe I’ll get myself out to a local show this year.

Maybe I’ll get myself out to a local show this year. You won’t find much info on it, other than two links selling a single egg on a collectors type site. It’s from a private bed that my grandpa mined out years ago. Not much was ever sold. There has be a very small portion of it sold back in 2007 that made quite a hit at local shows. Its considered a collector type egg due to scarcity. www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/jvc-papa-bob-bed-thunderegg-polished-1984398838

My very first Thunderegg pair, purchased. The Thunderegg was from the Mazong Mountain in Gansu, China, which is close to the Gobi desert of inner Mongolia of China. They are not face polished, so I apply Vaseline to the surfaces to bring out the colors.
