Nonsense! It's a beautiful cab and I don't see any fractures. Love the backlit picture. It really shows off the corals.

There is one on the right that's under the surface but not too noticeable from head kn angle. However, I had to change shape and grind away much of the piece removing other fractures too. I always wanted come up with a backlit pendant. But don't even wire wrap so drilled pendants is all I've come up with lol

I love the flurry of activity at the end and we will now officially close this one for entries! Thank you to everyone who participated - I'm anticipating having the voting thread up by either tonight or tomorrow morning so watch for that!

Good luck, y'all! Great group of cabs. It's going to be really hard to pick just one. For a while there I did NOT think we were going to hit sixteen entries but I have learned now to never underestimate RTH members! It will indeed be hard to choose.

Voting Criteria:
Please judge each entry based on the following.
1) How well was the challenge of the contest theme met? Fossils, check! 2) How well did the stone meet the contest requirements of a flat back, domed top cabochon?
A few were not domed (flat top, plain rounded edge), side photo missing (or inadequate), so as not to show that.
3) General appearance - keeping in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many materials are difficult to work with and an exceptional creation might not be flashy and bright. They were all beauteous!
Well that was pretty easy to pick the best one! (IMHO, lol)

Each and every one was fantastic. I kept scrolling down with my jaw hanging open. Had to come back and look 3 times before I could choose. 17 - All of the above.
