Money has yet to be paid. No ill was ever meant. A slight extension was made... No rules were even bent.
More rocks mean more dough. So more hours, let's say twenty-four, To help this "Boards Pro" Pay their people some more!

Benathema and jasoninsd ... that's pretty good. Didn't know you guys were such poets. Actually, I appreciate the extension as well. The additional slabs don't make it into the MFB so I'll upsize this to a LFB and then add some additional rough. Pics tomorrow.

Thanks for the assists again jasoninsd! To the relief of hopefully everyone I would like to wrap this thing up in proper fashion. I am adding another SFRB of tumble scraps that might consist of trim saw offcuts. I will do my best to get photos up by tonight if I get off early enough. Also, I am proposing that after this date push out to Saturday the 17th we conclude the auction with no additional date push-outs, and move the end time up to 7pm out of respect for our east coast folks. If anyone who has been actively involved in this thread either giving or bidding has any objection to either of these changes please say so.

Tommy - this has definitely been a fun one to watch and participate in. I would agree that a final cutoff for the auction at 7pm PDT on Saturday 4/17/21 would mark a great end to a great auction - and should make it more of an accessible finish for all involved! Definitely not trying to run the auction...just wanting to make this bold so everyone should see this FINAL CUTOFF (NO MORE EXTENSIONS) TO THE AUCTION IS SET FOR 7pm ON SATURDAY 4/17/21! I'll edit this if there's any objections that can't be persuaded otherwise.

Just my opinion: while if every auction was run like this it would lose its appeal pretty quickly, I really enjoyed this one. It just needed some fine tuning which is being done now with the end date, etc. I thought it was a clever way to perhaps get additional people interested as it went along. In my case I was not interested at the start as I have a fair amount of rough/slabs of Picture Jasper. As different materials were added the value to me changed, sometimes more/sometimes less depending on what I already had and what I was already on the hunt for.
At the time of any individual bid the bidder knows exactly what is in the pot, if something were to be added after that bid and they still won, it is a bonus whether you were interested in it or not. Part of the fun for me was in seeing what direction this was going to take, if/when the current bid exceeds what I value the pot at it is time for me to stop bidding. Great concept and execution, including the call for a final closing date.

I agree with Rockindad. This has been an entertaining auction with all of the additions and intrigue created by the extensions. That said, I am happy to have an end date and a better time for us east-coasters! Now, if I could only remember where the bidding stands and figure out what I am doing...

Holy cow, paulshiroma! That’s such a great addition that I am getting the urge to bid against myself again! I keep thinking I should get some of that Brian Head Agate so I can finally prove where the rocks in my head come from. It would finally prove all of my schoolteachers right after all of these years.

Brian No need to bid against yourself. $501.00 is my final bid. I will be at work when this auction ends. Will check when I get home late tonight.

I call this the battle of the losers, as both Brian and I have been the second/third highest bidders in several of these auctions. it is all up to him or another now.

I'm totally guesstimating, but I think there has to be over 150 pounds of material being offered up in this auction. That's just the weight...not taking into account the amazing "types" of material being offered up. So, at the current bid, that's $3.33 a pound which I feel is a steal for most of the material I'm seeing in this auction.

So the SFRB that I added yesterday will be hand selected for quality from this bin of trim saw off-cuts and will definitely include the palm-sized wedge-shaped piece of rare Tidgilite aka: worm track rock, or fawn skin jasper shown top center in the photo. It's actually closer to marble I believe and on the softer side, but people call it what they want. Not sure if it tumbles but I guess someone can find out In general most of the pieces will be flat and in the cabochon size range.

LOL I know my PO would leave a note in my mailbox if more than one heavy (over 20 lb.) package arrives the same day. Tell me to come to PO and get them. They will leave one package per day. Considering my PO has limited hours for pick ups, this would be a challenge for me. They will hold packages for one week, then return them to sender. They will also answer phone calls at times, but this is hit or miss. Bonus is that they recognize me when I come into PO and call me by name. Gotta love small town, rural PO's.
