I will shut up and stop complaining about it being close to 90 today and tomorrow. Get some ice cream/frosty drinks and stay cool.

We'll break 100 today, but that will certainly be lower than what many Oregonians will be dealing with. I sure hope that this summer doesn’t bring another stationary high pressure cell like this one. I just hope that you can find a way to be comfortable. Our home is not.

113 degrees here on the McKenzie today. AC working overtime and still north of 80 in the trailer. In all my years here in Oregon I have never seen the like! Shop topped out at 119, no cutting. Iced drink on the couch!!

Here in Dewey AZ (near Prescott) we're "cooling off" today with a high of 96. It's been a lot hotter than that for the past couple of weeks. I think our warmest was 108 or so but it's gone on day after day. I feel lucky not to be in "the Valley" near Phoenix where it's topped 117 a few days. Much smoke here from a major wildfire to the east.

Howdy Rick What have the lows been in Dewey? I suppose below 80 It’s the low in Phoenix that killya…mostly Doesn’t get below a 100 A bit of exaggeration But not by much Dam that hard to try and start a day But the start of this summer as been cake walk w/ that rainstorm in June That was unusual Matter of fact I think it was on this day in 1990 Phoenix recorded that 122-degree day Scorching hot dry heat! Anyway I’m not out working in it Done plenty of that Lucky to have a cool room and NOW a refrigerated car So maybe I’m just way to acclimated And hopefully more rain is on the way O and the slog is still coming High Dew points-- humidity in the 20% range Uuugh Stay cool

All you folks up there in OR and WA hang in there. Take it easy and don't do anything strenuous if you don't have to in those temps.
Here in Chino Valley we've been hot for the last couple of weeks, just like Rick. A couple of degrees cooler, because we're farther north and a higher elevation. I think our highest temp was 107, but today our high was 88 and we have cloud coverage so it felt downright cool. Luckily, we cool off pretty good at night (last night it got down to 67) and with lower temps we'll be in the low 60's in the mornings hopefully.
Rain in the forecast tomorrow through the week, so I'm hoping we get some awesome monsoon rains to clear the air of all the smoke from the fires up north. Yesterday and this morning when we went outside, the smoke and smell of the fires was brutal. The Hot Shots could use the help from some rain, too. They need a break. I just hope no more fires start from lightning.

I was headed for an exceptional blueberry crop, got two gallons picked. I gave one to repay a favor, most now are cooked, might get enough for us to eat. 115 at 2:00 this afternoon, 83 at 8 P.M., cooldown is coming.

Finally a break in the hot weather, a cold front moved in from the Pacific ocean, dropped us over 30 degrees! Yesterday was a 121 degrees in our carport, 111 on the front porch1 just about lost our flower and veggie gardens, but I bit the bullet and took a chance on watering them when I seen the problem. They came back full of life... Looks like we only lost one flower plant, out of it all... Got down to 63 degrees lastnite, shut the air off and opened windows, what a relief!!

Thank you for taking this heat wave off our hands heehee It's been a super pleasant start of summer in the bay area - couple of hot days last week but other than that, very nice. As a related side note, my wife and I are finally having AC installed today The house has central heat and was plumbed and wired for AC when it was built in 2000 but it was never installed until now so we're super excited. It's been a long hot and smokey last couple of years.

My dad still lives in the house the family moved into in 1966. They live within five miles of the beach, so nature's AC has always been enough. A year or two ago, he finally had solar panels (and two Tesla batteries) installed, and then AC installed just last year. It is not needed often, but nice to have when it is needed. He turns 91 in a week. Don't be needing the heat.

Tommy , good for you! Now you just need to have solar installed so you can afford to run it! We have it! Our average PG&E bill if we get one at all is about $17 per month and that's mostly gas.

Out on the desert just north of phoenix, some days it's been 115 to 120 in the shade of our little alcove in the house, and generally 5 to 10 hotter in the steel shop building. Our salvation out here is it cools off a lot more here than in the city. Got rain last week and expect more soon, good to get the water but the increased humidity not so much.

yep the worse part of increased humidity beside the body not being able to cool itself as efficiently are the bugs that emerge big ones and especially those noseeums damn bites on the skin just show up from nowhere just bought a pair of easy slip on boots inexpensive cause ya dare not go out at dusk with out socks on or ankles will be welted of course we all know mosquitos are attracted to water sources anyway high dew = the slog of summer traditionally September 15th is the end & the rocks can start to come out and play, again in the meantime no moleste mosquito

A few weeks back, we had a run of 107-109. Pretty nasty. This wave, weirdly, went north of us. We had about 4 days of "only" 100 (God, that sounds weird), and are, as of today, dropping into the low 90s. I guess that means biking home into a 25mph head-wind again. It's only 16 miles, so it's doable.
