If y'all were closer I'd be all over it. I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to when I'd be able to pick it up.

Yikes . . . does it come with a contortionist from Cirque du Soleil to retrieve the slabs?

Yikes . . . does it come with a contortionist from Cirque du Soleil to retrieve the slabs? It's really not that bad. Some of those long grill tongs would do the trick.

WOW I hope that finds a good home. I think we all have a few rocks sitting around to feed to a saw like that.

So, did he run that 36 with oil, water, or some other fluid? I thought I remembered reading there was another blade that he said didn't cut straight, I'm thinking that pulling into the bottom side of a huge blade like that may have dished a blade pretty fast, generally with "bridge saws" you cut with no more than 20% of the blade diameter for that reason, and you toss the blade after a single job. Fortunately the blade in the photos looks pretty robust, and not used much.

The 36" was run with oil. A big sump tank against the back wall. Oil pumped directly onto the blade. I went over earlier today to see how I would dismantle it.
The original blade was a green one. The one on it now, from Diamond Pacific, looked damn near brand new when I was there today.

Have gotten a deposit on the 24" Frantom.
If anyone wants the 36" now is the time. I've looked it over, and all the welds, etc, look good.

March 27th can't get here fast enough. Already have a line of victims for that bad boy. Need a good Roman gladiator name for it.

Good to hear the 24 has a new forever home, and that there could be another epic road trip in the works. Biggus Rockus?

I'm planning on booking out there to pick up the saw, then rockhounding a bit as I toodle back home. Got about a good dozen sandbags to fill up with tumble rough and will have room in the truck bed for anything bigger,😁.

Maybe before (or after) you load up we can hit a few spots near where the saw is. You are going to be pretty close to Burro Creek and I can check with a couple people, one of them a member here, on a possible guide. Purple agate, Pastelite jasper, and a nearby spot that the book says you can find pet palm. I can also take you up by Lake Pleasant after thundereggs and some clear calcite bits about 20 minutes from me. If you're coming across or returning via I40, of course there is Holbrook and the rainbow wood, I'm definitely ready to go back up there.

AWESOME! I'm down brother! My trip back is pretty much wide open as far as which direction to go. My tentative plan was Az, NM, North Texas, possiblity of bouncing back up into Ok.

OK - since it sounds like brybry is a pretty sure bet to come pick up the 24", I think we're all done here. Thanks, guys.
