Magnus Porcus Lives! First cut of a Burro Creek chunk on the new (for me) beastie. Had a couple issues .... Rolled off the load ramps when I was unloading it, only damage was the homemade pulley/belt cover got bent. Landed in some soft mud, didn't hit hard, kinda just plopped/rolled. Hence the name. The motor/performance for the screw drive wasn't right yesterday so I tried again today. The motor kept popping the breaker. Running through all the switches and connections, found the culprit. Wire popped off the capacitor. Plugged it back up and running like a mad pig! Not a fast cutter but I can walk away to do other stuff while it does it's thing. Thanks to Vince & Robin for their part in me getting my new toy.

Yay! Good to see the saw going again. It'll be earning it's keep for sure. Just ordered the chain shut off switch for it. Pretty soon it'll be all spruced up and feeling like brand new pig.

Nah, don't paint it pink. Maybe just add some Miss Piggy eyelashes - since you seem to be really fond of it... .

It's been awesome. So glad this particular plan worked out so well. If only the weather would have cooperated for you at the end there.

This has been a long, strange trip indeed.
I'm grateful to both you, brybry , Rockoonz , and neural for helping out the little old lady we listed this stuff for.
It's a good feeling to help our older club members get some kind of a return on their stuff when they decide it's time to sell.
The estate sale company that sold the household items got her pennies on the dollar. We didn't want that to happen with the equipment. Three RTH members and a couple of other individuals got good deals, so it was a good thing for everyone.
Thanks, y'all.

It was a pleasure meeting you too. My friend's name is Frank and he has a username but I can't remember it because he doesn't come on the forum often. I had to laugh when you said my "gang"...lol. Safe travels and happy hounding. Diane, is his screen name frankwitte? He has posted exactly once since joining in May 2016. A real chatty guy, huh? (If this is him) I found his screen name by finding a person named Frank that is following you, and you him. Great detective work, right. Sounds like you guys all had a great time in the desert! You did indeed find him, great detective work. Yeah, he's a chatty guy in person but doesn't say much online. Yes, we did have a great time in the desert, you know us, any time spent rockhounding is a great time.

Now, if Bob's health would just improve. He is just itching to get out there again. Our prospecting (and rocks!) group is up at Four Corners, in the Mojave this weekend. We'd love to be able to go to the desert, but we still need to fix the trailer yet, so we can stay more than one day, without having to sleep in the truck! Have done that before. It's not comfortable. Not to mention cold last time. We did that when we went to Lavic Siding with a CFMS group. Now that's an area that it would not be a problem to take a 20' tandem axle trailer (yes, same one as before) into, unlike North Cadys.

Oh yeah, right, benefits of being retired, I'm definitely not retired but I have a more flexible schedule than some in the working class. With prices the way they are it is getting harder to get out. I've stayed in my truck a time or two but like you said, not comfortable for sure. I've also taken my trailer aka home into places not meant for trailers and regretted it.
