I decided to start this new thread as the "official" Quartzsite discussion and RSVP thread, as well as for field trip organization.
As many of you know, the Saturday night of the PowWow show (Jan 19th thru 23rd), Tony and Chris Funk catmandewe host a large BBQ party for rockhounds from all over to come and hang out and eat good food. The Saturday night event has gotten so popular that the RTH focus was getting lost, so for the past couple of years pre-Covid, Tony has invited RTH members and families over on Friday night for our own RTH bbq event.
Friday night, January 21st, 2022 - typically around the time the sun is going down, RTH members and families are invited to come party with us at Tony's booth at the Desert Gardens show. It's typically a potluck with Tony providing hamburgers and hot dogs and while he never asks for anything in return I strongly encourage everyone to get to his booth early and buy some rocks to support them.
Let us know if you think there's a good chance that you'll make it, to help us plan for food etc. I'm working on an event shirt and I'll have it posted in the store probably just after Christmas.
I'm tagging previous attendees to the best of my memory, as well as members who participated in past Quartzsite threads. I'm certain this is an incomplete list so help me by tagging someone you think might come.
