Not sure of the location. I bought 2 slabs years ago and cut one and this on has been setting on a shelf. The picture was dry, no fractures that I see, the on I cut I had no problems but with any stone you have a chance of some thing that you dont see. The very top is heavy with Pyrite. The price is what I paid for it 6-8 years ago plus shipping. Keith

I wish it was N.C. I have some nice pieces that would bring a nice profit! I bought a few slabs and some rough awhile back so not sure where from but not N.C.

Dave I just rough the blank and the back of the scale and epoxy them on. I put the knife in a small rubber griped vice to hold them in place. Just put on one side at a time. When I put the scales on they are just roughed in I finish them on the knife. Thanks everyone for the nice comments! I am no where in the class of Adrian or Ken but I learn a little everytime!

The blanks I use are good quality and are razor sharp! I always cut at least 3 slabs of the material that I choose to use because you will break one a lot of the time. It's also hard to get matching slabs so you can make the pattern the same on both sides! My wife says it does not matter but I try and always match them as close as I can.

I had a customer that requested a Emerald Pendent I had a couple of nice slabs so I cut a shield pattern and grooved wrapped with Silver wire. I think it turned out pretty good! It looks like it has spots missing but it is where the black matrix host rock is between the Emeralds the cab is all flat no holes!
