Congrats! I never would have recognized any of those for what they are.

All good advice. We've all experienced that frustration with uncooperative rough.
Welcome to the board!

On my Star Diamond, the switch goes toward the operator (away from blade) for power feed because there is a linkage that pulls the switch forward to turn off the saw at the end of a cut.
If you're not able to get it wired let me know and I'll try to get a pic of the inside of my power feed box. It might take a few days, though.

Ever heard the story about Roy Rogers' new boots? If you haven't, here you go:
Roy Rogers buys a new pair of boots, which he loved every bit as much as Mel with his new boots.
Being a gentleman and not wanting to tick off his wife Dale by bringing his dirty boots in the house, he took them off and left them on the front porch at night.
One morning, he wakes up to hear purring and slobbering. He looks out the front door and there is a mountain lion licking and biting his boots.
Roy grabs his gun, jumps on Trigger, and chases the mountain lion into the hills.
Later that evening, he rides into the yard in front of the house with the mountain lion draped across Trigger.
Dale sees him and asks, "Pardon me, Roy, is that the cat who chewed your new shoes?"
I can hear your boos from here. Chuck

Toad, I would guess that media attention has more to do with it. Tends to be pretty parochial.

Hi Doc,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I posted my experiences with them about 6 months ago. Not as bad as yours, but I had to keep hounding them to get the items shipped. Cheapest prices I could find, but what a hassle.

If you have LubeTech nearby, you can get Mineral Seal Oil for about $55 for 5 gal. Some people here use inexpensive hydraulic fluid, but you have to check viscosity and flash point.

I hate to say it, but it looks like limestone to me. I left a piece that size behind on a trip to Montana last weekend. A fun specimen to have, but probably not worth much.
Yes, a Dremel would work.

Hi Lisa,
I don't think you should see any scratches from a 14k belt. I hate to say it, but you may need to back up a belt or 2. At least that has worked for me when I've had similar problems.

Nice job Tom! Great explanations of your process and I think that is an excellent result given the rough. You continue to be an inspiration to me.

I love my 10" 303C and was planning on a 303S for my 18" saw when the time comes. Glad to hear it's a good blade.

Biker Randy does a lot of "pendants" this way; 500 or more at a time.

Then that saw should work nicely!
If it's like the Work Force, you'll want to stand behind it as you cut...
