I get baby socks the dollar store. Protect hammer heads with them. Keeps moisture off the metal. Cute, too!! Right on Pat ! good info ! I didn't think of the dollar store Got the booties at Wally World didn't really know what I was looking for besides white tube soxs butte was staying observant for least expensive and any alternative we all know that the prices & if you can even find items are like we never experienced don't get me started on supply and demand issues altho I was thinking of starting thread asking for suggestion of what items people are missing on the shelf ? cave worthy and sure that list would get long anyway I digest..mostly the baby booties seem to be ideal hopefully were going to get some weather inversion in the area and I can go out and shoot some sunsets tonight is boring butte sooon

Hmmm glad you pulled off to the side of the road. Much safer when taking photos. AND nice and restful. Cool photo!! The freeway over[asses have the best exclusive views! soon to be the only ones That 153 HWY is gauntlet to get through won't really use it much I've written the Dept of Transportation (ADOT) about it unsafe condition those traffic guys are pretty smart ha so far they haven;t taken any of mohssuggestions they need to read this page anyway Pat I was safe never got out of the car and was in area where I could pull far off ) and I think my cloth tube cover is million dollar entrepreneurial idea never seen the idea they may be available not sure besides being a good lens protector it also can keep dirt, sand, the element off the camera so if the idea catches on RTH heard it first \anyone want to invest the capitol if it a real ideal ?

Hi Everyone Thought I’d show off another one of Mohs brilliant low budget innovation Lens caps are a problem. Geez So I needed a mohsolution I started off with a tube sock Cut to length, it slips over the lens barrel, and is tight hold. Worked well Slip off easy, put in pockets, slips back on, Gravy Even stuffed the end w/ a dear past girlfriend silk panties for extra lens protection. tanks for the memories...m stly Altho you must remember when removing the tube covr to put the cover in secure place. I laid it down on the ground Walked off w/ the camera around my neck Discovered my mistake And had to back track Searching for the tube sock cover. Over& over Problem. The tube sock had gray patches Bad! Camouflage. So I bought some bright color baby booties socks. No need to cut to size, tight secure hold. Altho I did have to sans the silk panties. Not enough room No problemohs Stuffed in another baby booty sock into the end To give that lens just that extra cushion. Amazing how common it is to bump into something hard on the lens. Ha

mohs . What is a quick ELF capture? Google didn’t help. Thanks. I call a quick ELF capture a fast photo I’ve taken with my Canon ELPH camera My terminology as caused lots of confusion At least I'm getting read The bright ones know who to read ha ha Canon named the camera ELPH It’s a conjunction word that stands for Small & t PH stands for photography So in mohs shorthand its the ELF !The ELF is really great small camera. Fits in the shirt pocket, great for street shooting, as good zoom and a wide angle 180 bucks well spent Well maybe I didn’t clear anything up Pat ? Butte what the heck... I hope you like the song The Rain The Park & Other Things By the Cowsills The (Monarch) flutters in the hair stands for flowers in the hair There I gohs again confusing things Butte what the heck

I found this a few days ago in Salt River it quite a rare geological specimen to me maybe not to others. butte certainly uncommon for this area maybe its common in other far away areas ? or perhaps it just a leaverite? not sure what it really is besides some sort of sedimentary structure anyway I escalated the identification issue I've gave it some serious attention and my analysis of the rock is in the daza gneiss thread forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/96237/daza-gneiss?page=13it quite lengthy and maybe boring it may not even make sense haha haven't gotten any feedback so how would one know? or maybe that is the answer

didn’t watch the vid Butte from the comments It reminded me of the old joke
7 year old Tommy tell little brother Mikey
“when were at the kitchen table I’ll say damn to Mom and you say effing to her."
Little Mikey nods his head in agreement,
Mom says:
"Tommy dear would like Cheerios or Wheaties"?
Tommy: "I’ll have the damn Cheerios."
Whack!!
up side the head with the rubber spatula
as Tommy runs out the kitchen whimpering,
Little Mikey is watching all this w/ trepidation
“Now" Mom says :
“What would you like for breakfast, Mikey ?
Mikey hesitates for a moment then says
“Not the effing Cheerios !"

Its interesting amyduke My brother was into that decades ago He had that sort of problem That the candling helped I’m just the opposite My ears are clear Straight through To the other side Although I did have a strange condition that lasted for a decade I think it must have been some sort of eczema in the ear canal crazy itching It would only intermittently show up Just as I was ready to crash at night What is it w/ the body getting strange right when your trying to doze of? Anyway I had a quick and efficient cure A Q-tip swabbed with triple antibiotic ointment Stopped the itching quick So mohs could get a restful sleep Like I said that went on for 10 years Last 3 or 4 years the problem is all cleared up Doctor had no idea….

thanks for all the licks guys! An interesting phenomenon just dawned on mojoz concerning the VerdeStone As can be seen in the macro photo the base or the core of the rock is of a dark gray constituent Yet when you crack the stone the slab planar break face reveals a greenish hue surface This I assume could go on for infinity Slice after slice Very unique The greenish hue is only surface thin. As the macro shows So the light reflection is highlighting that feature. What causes this surface light refraction? What minerals are responsible? A feature of this stone in need of insightful explanation.... I return you now to your regularly scheduled thread

My attempt a macroing To the show the internal stricture of the mystery VerdeStone Particularly what I want to show is 1. the edge color gradation 2. the very fine sparkling quartz grains sands The tiny bits of quartz grains would indicate that the rock is fundamentally a sedimentary Assuming that: How unusual is a greenish color sandstone? Thanks for helping me figure this out …

You don't think it might coincide with new training groups at Luke? You might be too close to PHX to get much from their training flights, but I sure get a lot. We used to get a lot of lower altitude stuff, but now they're doing that more down in Buckeye. We hear the rumble but often they are too high to see. My steel supplier is at the N end of the runway. When I was there Friday it looked like they were working on near vertical takeoffs in the 35's, downright deafening. good to hear that Luke is flying now that the season changed hope to get out that way and do some photoing recall those sonic Booms of the sixties/seventies Mach was happening all the time windows started trembling ///
