I am not sure if I would classify this material as chert jamesp. I am pretty sure this material is an agate. Not really carnelian but like an agate with a red cloudy inclusion. That's my opinion of it.

I haven't done any wrapping in awhile and sat down and did one first thing this morning. I used a cab I cut about a year ago from some Alabama Paint Rock I got from Rodney Moore awhile ago. I used Antique Bronze Para wire in the construction of this wrap. Thanks for looking.....

It reminded me of that old photo of a Mexican with a big sombredo setting next to a cactus. All you need is the cactus and a burro....lol

I used to go camping out there too when I was a kid. I never knew there was anything to collect out there. Kanan road agate can be found just up the grade near Thousand Oaks and West Lake. Also there is a little park at the base of the grade that has some collectible stuff...,I just can't remember what. I use to go there as a kid too, I grew up in Oxnard.

We had a great time. This show is a true "tailgate"! Just show up and set up. Kind of like Quartzsite started, just a bunch of rock hounds out in the desert having fun.
