So usually my tops are carved some to get closer to the fire or to follow a particular fire layer. That being said I do like to dome the tops when I can especially if I get a good blending of colors to add interest to the stone. Most of the time, but not all the time, I think a single color is uninteresting. I like stones with multiple colors and domeing a stone sometimes helps that happen. I have a little of the old Fordite out of the Hazelwood,MO plant from the 60's and 70's. The looks is different than this newer material. I like to call the new stuff Detroit agate. Most of it comes from parts plants because most of the body's are powder coated now a days. No over spray with that method as it all gets sucked up in the vents.
You did a beautiful job on your cabs!! Well done that ripple is killer!!!

I thought it would be a good idea for all our vendors here that are going to be set up at the shows in Quartzsite this year to list where and when they will be set up this year. We will be set up at the QIA Pow Wow for the 10th year running is space number 492-494 January 18th-22

I can almost hear the BOOMS and cheering screams! Feel the detonations! See the flashes through my clenched eyelids!! I appreciate these quiet ones more than the real thing. (I'm sure it's related to age. I no longer care for amusement park rides or roller coasters anymore, either.) Nice job on those, Christopher. Thank you...you know I turned 55 this year and I do not care much for the roller coasters anymore either lol |
