bumping ... just to advertise for Mel on the last couple of days of the month ( ). This is great material. Dropped a bunch into the tumblers last night. Haven't cut anything as I need a new saw blade...

I was at a rock show last year where several dealers had setup bowling-ball sized boulder opals, drilled, with small fountain pumps and bowls. I didn't take pictures and I'm not describing them very well at all but maybe you can find something like that online and gets some inspiration? Just a thought.

love it! How much time did it take (estimated?) from start to finish? I work in jumps and spurts, but really I could not have spent over two hours on it, if that. It really goes pretty fast. I will work on the polish a bit more, I prefer the polish from cerium oxide over just the diamond pads. The biggest problem I will have is in finding a spot in the living room to stash it! FYI ... if you can't find a spot, I know I have a spot ... LOL! That is turning into t beautiful piece!

Nice! These can be fun. I picked up a couple of five gallon bucket fulls from the local club sale. They're spending time on the vibratory lap.
