I'd go with Selenite, it's a common form of gypsum.

I live in Alton IL and during this time of year we get numerous eagles. Can't say I've seen a feeding frenzy like that though... usually they just sit in a tree all day ![(lol)](//storage.proboards.com/1258779/images/hyOivrcWsQyVjSKtYIub.gif) . Michael

I've worked heated material as a knapper and cabber. The only real difference you'll notice it that the heated material will cut faster. This is because the heat treatment makes the stone break easier/wear faster. So, treat it like a "softer" material than you would if it were raw.

I've seen a good deal of Fenton glass... been there and purchased several hundred pounds... and they didn't have any with that much color variation. It's certainly glass but, may not be Fenton. Just saying, Michael

It's been awhile since I posted some new stuff. Here goes! ![](http://www.rockhobbies.com/images/products/1355949278m101a.jpg) ![](http://www.rockhobbies.com/images/products/1355949278m101d.jpg) Petrified Wood Wrap - I collected this pet wood from my favorite gravel bar in the Mississippi River. I then domed the top, polished it and left the back natural. I think the bronze wire pairs well with this stuff! ![](http://www.rockhobbies.com/images/products/1357850335m102a.jpg) Chrysocolla Wrap - I got this stone in trade from (sorry I don't recall who) but one of the RTH'ers. This was my first time working this material. Wrapped in non-tarnish bronze. Michael

I'm cheap, I'll admit it... I use a LED with a flex shaft and clip that is intended to light up a book for reading. Spent all of two dollars on it. So far it's, the best light I've found!

I always take the time to change into my ratty clothes and then I still wear an apron over them :-)

I agree with Mel. The banded pieces in the last pic look like chert. Nice tumbles!

I'd guess that the green/blue stone is Turkish Chalcedony. Great job on the wraps!

Sure thing Mario, next time I take some photos of my wraps I'll post the back sides too. It would be interesting to see what others do back there!

Outstanding wrap! The stone is paired perfectly and the wire compliments the quartz and really makes the rutile pop!

That's some eye-catching agate! Love all those bands! Good to hear your shop weathered the storm!
